Piccolo Hotel enjoys a quiet location, an 8-minute walk from the Locarno Train Station and the centre of the city. The hotel is a small, family-run place that's filled with historic, interesting objects that the owners have collected from their travels over the years. The breakfast room is especially nice, with tables set with beautiful pieces of china and linens. The food was delicious and plentiful and the owner made us coffee from a real espresso machine. What a treat! The room was tastefully furnished, immaculate, and very quiet. We ate dinner at a bistro within a 3-minute walk on two different nights and we walked a short distance to the boat for a trip to the botanical garden island nearby and the picturesque town of Ascona. The hotel owner gave us excellent advice and a topo map of a day-long valley hike which we reached by postbus. It's a hike we would not have discovered on our own and was one of the highlights of our trip to Switzerland. I hope we'll return to Locarno one day to spend more time and do the other valley hikes, and if/when we do, we'll definitely stay at the Piccolo Hotel. It's one of the best hotels we've stayed at. Book this hotel with confidence--you won't be disappointed.

Villa Principe Leopoldo can be found amid a large park above Lugano, offering panoramic views of Lake Lugano and the mountains, and featuring leisure, sport and wellness facilities, as well as... We had half pension, which we very much enjoyed. The breakfast was fine.

The Hotel&Hostel Montarina occupies a historic Villa built around 1860, only 200 metres from the Lugano train station. Everything about it was great. I've reached a bit late for the check-in found a really nice lady that helped me with everything and explained to me what to do. You will have to put a cash deposit for the key (20 euros or something similar) don't worry if you don't have cash you can just give her something to hold onto like a licence or your id. It was very comfortable, there was privacy in between the beds and the place is gorgeous. I didn't go to the swimming pool as i had a little inconvenience however there's a very nice pool there and it's lovely overall. Enjoyed it !

The family-run Continental Parkhotel is located 200 metres south of the main railway station of Lugano, where the funicular leaves regularly for the city centre. Easy access to city centre. Great pool. The staff were attentive and helpful, especially Cristian Tiozzo and Florida.

Situated on the lake promenade near the traffic-free centre of Lugano, Hotel Walter Au Lac offers you rooms with superb lake views. WiFi is free of charge. All air-conditioned rooms are renovated. Location, cleaning,staff everything was grate. I’d like to stay hotel walter au lac again.
