I had a fantastic stay at this hotel! The location is unbeatable—right in the heart of Lugano and just a short walk to Piazza della Riforma, the charming Christmas markets, and the main shopping district. Being right next door to the funicular/cable car to the train station made arrival and departure incredibly easy. The food was a highlight. Breakfast was incredible with a huge variety of continental and English options, including plenty of vegetarian choices. We also had a very good dinner at the restaurant. The hotel had a lovely festive vibe, but what truly stood out was the service. Every staff member was attentive, professional, and genuinely welcoming. Highly recommend!

Piccolo Hotel enjoys a quiet location, an 8-minute walk from the Locarno Train Station and the centre of the city. Beautiful building, we felt at home as soon as we walked in.

Villa Principe Leopoldo can be found amid a large park above Lugano, offering panoramic views of Lake Lugano and the mountains, and featuring leisure, sport and wellness facilities, as well as... We had half pension, which we very much enjoyed. The breakfast was fine.

Right on the shore of Lake Lugano, this family-run 4-star hotel offers restaurants, free WiFi, and a south-facing outdoor pool with direct lake access. The centre of Lugano is a 10-minute walk away. The room was a decent size, clean, with enough storage, a safe, a professional Nespresso coffee machine and the bed and pillows were confortable. A balcony with a ashtray and a beautiful view. The hotel has a pool and a lake access, perfect for summer and the view from the pool was amazing. I’m not a fan of buffet breakfasts but, between the Gorgonzola, the dispensers of farmers honey, the fresh orange juice machine, the fresh bread and pastries, all sorts of teas, eggs, cereals, nuts, etc and the different types of coffee you can order, this one is devine! The staff was very welcoming and friendly.

The Hotel&Hostel Montarina occupies a historic Villa built around 1860, only 200 metres from the Lugano train station. Everything about it was great. I've reached a bit late for the check-in found a really nice lady that helped me with everything and explained to me what to do. You will have to put a cash deposit for the key (20 euros or something similar) don't worry if you don't have cash you can just give her something to hold onto like a licence or your id. It was very comfortable, there was privacy in between the beds and the place is gorgeous. I didn't go to the swimming pool as i had a little inconvenience however there's a very nice pool there and it's lovely overall. Enjoyed it !

The family-run Continental Parkhotel is located 200 metres south of the main railway station of Lugano, where the funicular leaves regularly for the city centre. Beautiful hotel with a beautiful garden and an old history. Very good location with the fenicular so close by to downtown. The room was excellent with a beautiful lake view. The staff was execptionally friendly. Very good breakfast.

Situated on the lake promenade near the traffic-free centre of Lugano, Hotel Walter Au Lac offers you rooms with superb lake views. WiFi is free of charge. All air-conditioned rooms are renovated. The location was excellent, walking distance to the main train station. We had a gorgeous view of the lake and mountains. The hotel gave us free city bus tickets to use for our stay! Also, the breakfast was great for us and had a beautiful view.
