The hotel itself is good, the room is comfortable, there is a sauna area. But the location is disappointing: it is an industrial area in Hamburg, the bus stop is right in front of the door, but the bus only runs every 20 min on weekends. Driving in Hamburg is not a good idea as there are many traffic jams. After 23:30 only cab. There is no cafe nearby. The breakfast is overpriced, we did not take advantage of it.

We received a friendly welcome upon arrival and, upon our enquiry of suitable places for an evening meal, received a suggestion for Restaurant Heimathafen which we would highly recommend, located approximately 1 mile away in the town centre. The hotel's rooms are spread over 3 upper floors, although there isn't a lift. On-site free car parking exists for approximately 12 vehicles, with ample additional space on the surrounding streets - with 11kw EV charging close by - of this light industrial area. The location meant that overnight it was quiet, even with the window open. (Having the window open was the only obvious way of adjusting the temperature as the room was otherwise quite warm). Our room was simply but adequately appointed, although there were not any tea & coffee making facilities. Our double bed was actually 2 single mattresses together, although this did not pose us any problem as it was very comfortable. The shower had great pressure and a good temperature range. Whilst the hotel did not have a separate secure storage area for a bike, the staff were happy for us to keep it in the room (even though it had to be carried up the stairs) - there was plenty of space. The room for breakfast is fairly small and this may cause a problem if all guests arrived for breakfast at the same time. There was a good range of items for the continental breakfast which was tasty. We will be happy to stay here again if travelling in this region.
