We were travelling, so unfortunately only one night in Azay but managed to see the amazing chateau. Smaller than some of the others in the Loire but really interesting. A lovely little town that has as its central draw the fabulous chateau. Unlike many French towns which present a grey, shuttered facade to the visitor, this one looks almost like a film set of a quintessential French town - which is not to say that it's tacky, just right.
