AustraliaReally nice hotel, rooms and lobby area are all Versace themed so gold and fancy. The bathroom wasn't yet renovated but still perfectly fine. The Gym was in the basement and probably one of the best hotel gyms I've been to with state of the art equipment, spacious and right next to the bar and spa. I think I had assumed the hot tubs would be free but they were part of the spa you got a discount to use them but we didn't care enough to pay. The lobby bar was good had a happy hour

We stayed in this hotel, for one night.
We stayed in this hotel, for one night. After arriving at the airport, we checked into the hotel and left the following day, since we had other accommodations booked in the center city of Reykjavík for the rest of our stay. However, this first day and night in Iceland was one of the most memorable. The hotel itself was quite lovely and perfectly situated. We went to the blue Lagoon in the afternoon and the location was perfect. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone who needs an overnight stay near the airport.

I would've preferred to have stayed closer to the airport...
I would've preferred to have stayed closer to the airport but this lodging fit our needs for a one night stay before an early flight for a family of five. I would not consider this hotel for a longer stay as it is quite dated and lacks amenities.

Keflavik airport (KEF) was super crowded and chaotic and in no way could it accommodate the 45 minute transfer which Icelandair had booked for us, on its own flights. Plan on at least 2 hours for a transfer here. Better yet, avoid KEF altogether.

Easy to get around on foot, lots to do.
Easy to get around on foot, lots to do. Food tour was great.Shopping & eating out is very expensive! But lots of interesting places to eat.
But really hard when having a car, parking is very hard to find, signage is hard to understand. There is many zones - need information about them.
Parking in the wrong zone or the wrong time can be very expensive!

Happy that we rented a car to get around.
Happy that we rented a car to get around. Not sure how it would have gone if we hadn't. Iceland was EXPENSIVE, but very worth the stopover and experience we had when we got out of the cities and into the countryside - BEAUTIFUL once the clouds lifted!
Awesome to have experienced it, and will definitely fly through /stopover again if we have the chance.
(We're budget travelers, so check out the grocery stores (Bonus or Netto stores were good), and especially their 'discount' bins :))

Easy to reach Airport hotel from Reykjavik with the standard bus connection.
The hotel has an excellent shuttle connection (~10 min) to the airport.
The hotel room was very large, with a reasonably sized and stocked bathroom.
There was an option to sample breakfast, but since we took the shuttle at 5pm, it was a bit too early for breakfast. We did enjoy a good meal at the in-house restaurant.

Close proximity to the airport with sea views. Quiet residential location. Self check in and out so we didn't see any staff, not even at breakfast. Hotel is clean and well decorated throughout. We had a good sized room with a comfortable bed, bathroom had a good shower. Breakfast available from 0400hrs and is self service with a varied choice. Ideal for the airport and local restaurants.

We got a late flight into Keflavik and we didn't want to drive in the middle of the night so we stayed at the Aurora before picking up our car. We've stayed at this hotel before and we weren't disappointed, it's perfectly located at the airport - everything is within easy walking distance. The rooms are comfortable and breakfast was lovely.

A perfect place in Keflavik to start our Golden Circle tour. It was quiet and we even had the chance to prepare a quick meal in the breakfast station. The guesthouse is part of the hotel across the street and we got to use their gym for no extra charge.
