FAQs about hotels in Adelaide

Adelaide: Australia's Undiscovered Gem

Scratch the surface of Australia’s undiscovered gem with its blend of wonderful beaches, wide boulevards and extensive parklands including the Adelaide Botanic Garden. The City of Churches chimes to the beat during festival season with the Adelaide Festival of Arts, Adelaide Fringe and WOMADelaide.

The River Torrens flows through the city from the surrounding Mount Lofty Ranges. The Adelaide Hills features The Cleland Conservation Park that includes a wildlife park where you can pat koalas and Mount Lofty Summit with its panoramic views of the city. Hahndorf, with its German history, is another highlight.

The coast has some fantastic beaches. Historic Glenelg is Adelaide’s favourite local playground and further south are the wide open shores of Aldinga where you can drive your car on to the beach.

There are few better multicultural markets than the Adelaide Central Market or choose from a host of marvellous museums and art galleries, some having free entry. The picturesque and historic Adelaide Oval is a favourite for sports lovers.

Booking.com has accommodation in the city or visit surrounding areas like the Barossa Valley, Flinders Ranges and Kangaroo Island.

A beautiful city and all the better for having google map...

A beautiful city and all the better for having google map access in my car, in the past Adelaide was too frustrating as only the main and well known roads were labelled, and only at the beginning and end, for example only the very ends of roads had signposts if you got lost and came out onto what appeared to be a main road you had no idea where you were? so irritating for non-residents, particularly as residents proudly state how well the city is built on a grid! forgetting the fact that, Glen Osmond, Fullarton, Diagonal and Morphett roads run diagonally across that grid, completely confusing non-residents, and sadly many older visitors may not use google map / directions and are still having difficulty, Planners please include non-residents in your design and Bring back the Parkland that is being destroyed! Golfers can walk safely in Parkland, but non-golfers cannot walk safely if at all on Golf Courses, and what about the beautiful Adelaide environment and wildlife, heartbreaking!

We come from the country areas so really appreciate the green parklands & trees. have been to the attractions mentioned and all are worthwhile. We love the wineries, and antique shops in smaller outlying towns. Adelaide CBD has good variety of shows concerts etc

Very easy to find good affordable accommodation in the City close to public transport (which is very good) and to good shopping and eateries. Weather in Winter was fine during the day and cold at night. Avoid the middle of Summer. Very impressed with the Entertainment Precinct between the Railway Station and the Torrens River. Plenty of places to walk, take public transport ie the tram to Glenelg. Then there are Day Trips to Hanhdorf and the Barossa Valley.

Beautiful buildings, lots for tourists to see, good shopping strip, close to Barossa Valley and wineries. Something that particularly stood out was the friendliness of all the Adelaide locals. The customer service at our accommodation, and all the tourists sites and shops we visited was exceptional. Best I have come across.

Loved the city, and the surrounding areas are beautiful and interesting. We hired a car, found the city easy to navigate with GPS assistance, and with lots to see within easy reach of the city area. Hope to return and explore some more.

Hotel Alba is in a great location, on the quieter side of the Adelaide CBD, close to lovely parklands and easy walk to buses and trams. The room was very comfortable, modern, very comfortable bed and great view of the parklands from my room. The pool area is great and had a great vibe. Even if you don’t want to get into the pool, it’s a great place to have a drink or snack from the bar and hang out and mingle with other guests.

This was a well run city centre hotel with spacious, well equipped rooms. It has the feel of a business hotel, but caters well for tourists too. It is near to most of Adelaide's attractions. The staff were were helpful in changing rooms and extending our stay.
