My wife and I absolutely loved this place. We each got a free happy hour drink both nights, and the included breakfast was very tasty and healthy (omelette and salad). We also ate in the restaurant some in the evening, and everything was very tasty. The staff are all soooo kind and helpful. For about $6 they can wash/dry a laundry bag that you fill. Our room (which was only for two people; we did not stay in the dorm-style rooms) was clean and comfortable, and the whole facility was clean and quite cozy. Close walk to the main train station (no more than 10 minutes).

The staff was very nice and had a very helpful recommendation book of restaurants and hikes in the area. The kitchen facilities were great, there was free coffee and tea. Both onsens (in- and outdoors) were very clean and beautiful!

Exceptional, genuinely engaged staff. Rooms were lovely and the in room onsen was fantastic. Staff mapped out a great one day itinerary for us, which was spot on. Property has its own bridge that leads the road up to the property. Dinner at the restaurant was excellent. We have had three Michelin starred dinners so far, and the Dinner at the hotel restaurant (which does not have a star) was better than all three Michelin dinners. They refunded breakfast cost because we were leaving very early in the morning. They did so without us requesting, which was appreciated. Further, they made a small takeaway breakfast for us to take with us, again, without us even requesting it.

Yusakaso is a recently renovated ryokan in Hakone where guests can make the most of the open-air bath and shared lounge. Built in 1957, the property includes hot spring bath and public bath.

My partner and I loved the traditional dinner and breakfast that was served in our rooms, we weren’t expecting it and the woman who brought it to us was so sweet. We loved both the public and private onsen, and appreciated the women only hours. This was such a special experience and one of the highlights of our trip.

We booked the lodging via Booking.com which is the hotel and travel app. We didn’t realize it was AirBnB until we actually arrived at the property. It would have been great for a family trip of 6 or 8 people.

There is a lot to like about Hakone Komachi. The couple running the place were very kind, and gave my group privacy during the entire stay. I strongly recommend reservering the BBQ dinner option. Everything is set up for you, all the cleanup is done by the couple in charge, and the food is excellent. My friends and I can eat a lot and we were all full by the end of dinner. The room is very clean, and lots of sitting space made it easy to hangout together in the living room as a group. There is a nice view of the surrounding area, which was a great escape from the city. There is a convenience store about 3 minutes from the place, which was very nice.
