We had a wonderful stay at this property! It was beautifully appointed with everything we could possibly need, and the thoughtful touches—like the delicious food and snacks—were such a treat. The location was perfect, making it easy to get around and enjoy the area. Everything was spotless, and the home was so comfortable that we felt relaxed from the moment we arrived. Highly recommend and would love to return!

The place was clean and comfortable, and overall I had a decent stay. There’s no check-in counter, but the self check-in process was smooth thanks to the clear instructions provided. It’s about a 25-minute walk from the bus terminal, and while I believe there’s a shuttle service available, I didn’t use it.

There aren’t enough words to recommend this hotel. Every single detail is perfect, starting with the food, the amenities, the peaceful rooms, cleanliness, the beauty of the property, but above everything else is the family who runs it. Their warmth and service is outstanding, you feel like home.

We only stayed for three days, but Sada and his wife were so kind and welcoming. The children loved being there and wanted to stay with them all the time. It felt like staying at a friend’s home. Highly recommended!

Every single thing was absolutely amazing. The whole family were so nice and caring. An absolutely exceptional stay! Nothing quite compares to this place! The room, the food, the place, it was a full Japanese experience, that I think everyone should have. Myself and my partner travel a lot, and when I say this was the best place, it gives a million % assurance! Thank you for an amazing experience!

Loved the effort that the owner put into preparing the stay and items to use. There was food in the fridge for us in the event we missed dinner locations and the futon+bed was comfy. A nice stay area for a family or group of friends. The owner also prepared a trip guide which was fun to read through and informative

Stay was amazing, great value for money! All the ammenities were gorgeous and well maintained. The family that owns and runs the property were so welcoming and accomodating! The food was absolutely delicious, made from local ingredients and so many courses! Im sure I would have paid more at home just for the meals included. I also want to say that I appreciated their sustainability efforts as well, did not see any single use plastic throughout the entire property. You can tell they really care about people and the world.

There are no words to describe our experience in Shiroyamakan. Everything was exceptional, the installations, the personnel, the atmosphere, the location, simply, there are no words. The food is another part of the history. Yes, can be weird that the dinner is at 6 pm, but it has an explanation that you must experience by yourself. It was the most beautiful and memorable experience in our traveling life. Arigatou so much to the family, you made us feel in your home.

The family that runs the place is the most amazing little local family. They forage/hunt for the meals themselves, they do everything for the guests. It is also their family home. I am an architect, and what the family did with the design of the place exceeded expectations! The rooms are all top quality, overlooking the river or the gardens. The bath (onsen) is private and perfect for families/couples/small groups! Again, absolutely beautiful. They care so much, and you can tell.
