Le Malve Cave Retreat Cave Retreat is located in Sasso Caveoso, the historic part of Matera. It boasts air-conditioned rooms with a town-view balcony and a buffet breakfast. Location of this hotel is perfect. Literally right off one of the main streets in close proximity to many restaurants. Also, basically on the path to the Piazza Madonna de Idris with stunning views. Despite the business around, you can't hear a thing in the room! We interacted with three people from the staff and all were wonderful, gave us amazing recommendations, and booked a dinner reservation too. I would say this has been by far the most interesting, unique and best room I've ever stayed at.

This was a fantastic hotel. The staff are amazing. The rooms are clean and lovely. The breakfast was delicious. Honestly every detail was perfection.

Offering free parking and free Wi-Fi, the modern Bhotel features a large garden with a tennis court. It is located in the Basilicata town of Lagonegro, just off the A3 motorway exit. Good mountain location. Must be perfect for skiing holiday. Comfortable rooms!

Set 700 metres from the Sassi di Matera UNESCO site, Hotel Casino Ridola offers a swimming pool and free parking with video surveillance. WiFi is free in all rooms. A lovely little hotel, beautifully appointed with excellent, attentive staff. It has private parking but is only a 10 minute walk from the sights in Matera. It also has a small swimming pool.

Fantastic and very unique hotel. Right in the heart and yet very peaceful. The room was quite big and had all the amenities. The unique old-style swimming pool is the best we have seen in a hotel. Breakfast was great, unique, and filling. All the complimentary experiences were designed with a lot of thought and detail.

The rooms are furnished with antique furniture which suits the castle. The evening menu was a 4 course set menu, but the staff did their best to accommodate gluten-free requirements. We did not find it difficult to find the castle as some other reviews have said.
