Very good location - close to Polonnaruwa ancient city and the lake, as well as to grocery stores and restaurants. The owner was very helpful with arranging a bike rental and safari tour as well as onward transportation. The guesthouse itself is very pleasant.

I was very happy staying at the Lake Cabin. Everything was excellent. Waking up early to the sounds of birds, sitting on the balcony to watch the sunrise, eating breakfast, and watching fishermen on the lake. Perfect!!! I felt relaxed and enjoyed every minute.

Hotel owners are the loveliest people and they made the most delicious breakfast and dinner on Sri Lanka. Also they offered to have lake safar, bike rental and private hire to next destination. All is very near to the accomodation and people are so friendly and nice.

This wonderful family was kind, helpful, and welcoming! Accepting their offer to eat their home cooked, Sri Lankan meals for a fair price was a good decision! The location right on this main street near the ruins entrance, restaurants, stores, bus stands to and from Sigiriya, Anuradhapura, etc, can’t be beat. Since they don’t have a business sign yet, look for them literally right next door to the service station (gasoline/petrol station) they mention on this site. They are continuing to construct new rooms on this site but don’t let that deter you. I attached a photo of what it looks like from the sidewalk and road, since there’s no sign.

The guesthouse is close to the main sites. Ravi makes delicious breakfast with lots of fresh fruits. He even made us a takeaway breakfast when we had to leave early for elephant safari. Ravi organized bikes for us to use to see the ruins. He also set up an elephant safari with an excellent guide, Shiron. He was knowledgeable and showed us some incredible birds. He had a knack for getting us in the right spots for elephant viewing and was respectful to give the elephants space. Highly recommend a trip with him. We also recommend the morning trip as he said in the afternoons sometimes there are 200 jeeps!

Location was perfect, very close to the ruins. The owner offered pick up upon arrival but we got off the bus very close to the property. When we left, he was very nice and drove us to the station.

The hosts were most accommodating and friendly. Food was fantastic although a little high in price, however the convenience of being served at the house was nice! Rooms are upgraded
