We expected a little cottage but it was a gorgeous house, tastefully appointed with great art on the walls and everything you need for your stay. I can’t say enough good things about this gem of a place. The decor, attention to detail, and general vibe of the Karoo Moon House was incredible. It was a real shame we couldn’t stay longer - it would have been a perfect long weekend. We also really appreciated the little extras that were provided in the house. We would come back to Barrydale just to stay here!

This cottage is a diamond in the Small Karoo. Ideally situated near Oudtshoorn between the koppies. Tranquil and peaceful. AnnMari is an excellent host. The cottage is equiped with everything you need and more. Very stylish with privacy for each room with its own bathroom. Gas stove works excellent and has also got a nice full fridge/freezer. Although near the road, we never felt unsave and traffic hardly bothered us. We were three ladies staying there for 11 nights. Only small negative was the, I assume, farm workers not far from there with their music. It was over Xmast and New Year, so we understood that as well. Was truly a beautiful experience and the atmosphere was fabtastic

Beds were comfy, showers were great, the home is huge, so big we only used half of it! We loved the lounge and dining and sat and ate outside too! Comfy couch, love love love!

Will for sure be back and please gas is enough! Best of all no electri ity to ecperience true Karoo life. No wifi here was the best for our souls.
