United StatesThe location was prime, though it was a bit difficult out to find the entrance as the hostel and reception aren’t on the ground floor. But it was on the waterfront and smack in the middle of a bunch of restaurants and shops with easy access to the ferry system.

United KingdomThere was a really nice atmosphere. I had the queen ensuite room which was beautifully decorated, really clean and light. The staff were really helpful and accommodating - when I pointed out a small problem with my window latch they fixed it straight away. The location is also great - really close to the beach and the bus stop / wharf for boat trips. The kitchen area was also lovely and clean and excellent recycling facilities in place outside.

I loved the vibrant atmosphere, the lovely backpacker-staff and the wonderful manager who was always a joy to chat with. The prices are incredibly reasonable for a place in the middle of Paihia, and you can tell the manager isn't in it for the profit - she genuinely wants to help travellers have the best experience possible. He always went the extra mile, nothing was ever too much hassle, and I loved how he helped organise socials with other travellers in the hostel. The location was amazing. It is right in the centre of Paihia, surrounded by restaurants and shops. The lounge was my favourite. It overlooked the sea and was well decorated. It is a cosy place to unwind at the end of the day. The whole place was also exceptionally clean.
