Toyama
Guesthouse Iwase is set in Toyama, 2.2 km from Toyama-kō and 14 km from Toyama Family Park. Featuring a shared lounge, the 1-star hostel has air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi, each with a shared bathroom. Free parking is available when reserved in advance. It’s not too far from Toyama station, the host gave me two complimentary tickets for the tram, he was so kind and helpful, his service was outstanding, I highly recommend this property as it looks really Japanese style for a small price.
Tateyama

Koko, the owner is nothing short of amazing and beautiful young lady running the business. Super convenient for the trekking if you’re doing alpine pass as it’s 30 seconds from the station. Facility is sparkling clean and comfortable. Very glad we found the place. Also Koko speaks very good English !
Takaoka
All rooms in the hostel are fitted with a kettle. With a shared bathroom equipped with a bidet and a hairdryer, rooms at Travelers' house ROOTs also offer free WiFi. Guest rooms will provide guests with a fridge. It is very close to station, about 7min walk. The beds were were very comfy and staff spoke both Enlgish and Japanese. There is also free coffee and tea in the morning with a V60 at service.
Nanto
Located in Nanto, 31 km from Kanazawa Castle, Guesthouse Kazura provides accommodation with a garden, free private parking and a shared lounge. The guesthouse is an old traditional renovated farmhouse with an awesome rustic and very comfy charme and pieceful view over the lake and the mountains. The owner is very friendly and cool and offers very delicious bread for breakfast and (for free:) different kinds of coffee and tea. I had a great relaxing time there, escaping the hussle of the city.
Uozu

This is the best hostel space I stayed at in Japan out of the 15 or so hostels I have stayed with. It’s so cozy, and the layout just makes so much sense, and you can find almost everything you need here. The owners are extremely friendly and passionate. There are also cats here. Wish I could stay for a few more days.

It was well equipped and had a nostalgic feel with vintage knick knacks! The property seemed to be a backpackers hostel back in the day, it was nice to see the little notes left by earlier travellers! The staff sends across a PDF document with lots of info and recommendations which is helpful - a tiny feedback to update it as it states that breakfast is provided (it is not).
A quick walk from the station, very safe and quiet area. The beds were much bigger than any hostel I’ve been in before (tall enough to stand up in!) and each had its own safe box and storage space. The facilities (kitchen, toilets, lounge areas) were clean and comfortable, and there were small towels that you could use for free or bigger ones for rent. As a bonus, there are CATS !! who are very friendly. The owners are nice people as well.
This hostel was one of the best hostel that I visited! Staff was super kind :) One of the happiest moment in Toyama city. I highly recommend this. (Trust me, I visited more than 30 countries and have lots of experiences of using hostels haha)
