This was my favorite stay in Central America and definitely the best breakfast in Nicaragua! Beautiful property with goat, chickens, birds, puppy, pig, and the kindest couple there to welcome you and make sure you have everything you need. It felt like staying with family, they were watching out for me and helped me arrange all of the activities I wanted to try with trusted guides. I loved walking through the neighborhood to get there- it's worth the sweaty trek. You really get to see how the locals live. Kids running in the street to say "hi!" to you. I felt safe walking alone, even at night.

The location on the island is perfect for most activities. The hostel is an oasis of beautiful plants and the rooms are great. Also Daniel is very helpful and attentive. I’ve recommended this hostel to everyone who visits Ometepe since it is probably my favorite on in my two months in Central-America. Also shoutout to the lovely kitten Gnocchi (such a good name.. ;))

Really friendly and helpful staff, good food, fun Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy Theme. Nice location, walking distance to town/the ferry but quiet and away from the commotion.

Rooms clean and well equipped. Family run hostel and they were very welcoming and helpful. Small restaurant on site with really good food and coffee for a good price. Central location and only 10 min walk from the port.

El Zopilote Permaculture Farm/hostel is a backpackers hostel and a permaculture farm at the same time. We offer various types of hospitality like private rooms, dormitories, camping areas and... El Zopilote is a unique place! The gardens are beautiful, and I loved learning about their oyster mushroom cultivation. i loved yoga, tours, and pizza night! The atmosphere was friendly and the food was fresh and delicious. Highly recommended!

This stay was great for the price that we paid for two air conditioned rooms. The rooms were very accommodating for our travel group of 5 ppl in one family room and 1 person in the other private room.Great restaurants in walking distance. Staff at the hostel is very friendly and helpful. Eventhough, we paid for air conditioning in the rooms- there was also two great fans to circulate the cold air 😇 there is also parking at the hostel for personal vehicle or motorcycles Upon seeing other hostels in the area this one looked far superior and unique .

Nằm ở Las Pilas, cách Núi lửa Maderas Volcano 17 km, Rainbow Caravan Hostel cung cấp chỗ nghỉ có khu vườn, chỗ đậu xe riêng miễn phí, phòng chờ chung và nhà hàng. The place was very clean and tidy, tranquil, and no noise at night which is rare in Nicaragua because there's always someone making some noise. The food was quality, homemade vegan goodness. Making a fire was cool and it has all the modern amenities like a fridge and cooking equipment so you can bring beer. Didn't have any bugs unlike some of the other hostels i stayed in on Ometepe. It's quite a good location equidistance between the two towns and near the start of Volcan Concepción. I recommend renting an ATV rather than a scooter at the port and picking it up in Ometepe, don't trust the people on the San Jorge side. The hostel also offers scooter rental although I picked mine up at port. Very photogenic hostel and peaceful.

It’s a bit aside from the port city Moyogalpa, so it’s very calm and almost no cars and people here, but still easy to reach by foot from the Centre (15 min walk). It has breakfast included and it’s home cooked food by the family. My room was very spacious, with 1 double and 1 single bed. They had outlets outside and inside, so i could work online here. Ask for both WiFi passwords! The host family was very nice and always tried to help, like when I needed a dentist they found a number. They don’t speak English (as most locals here) but with my broken Spanish and google translate we always understood each other. You can also ask them about the laundry option. Thanks for hosting me!

Learned this was one of the original hostels on Ometepe. Breakfasts and dinners were freshly prepared with local ingredients. Their dogs and cats were very nice to spend time with. The hosts can lease scooters and deliver them for competitive prices. Communication with host prior to and during stay was excellent.
