Newly opened in winter 2012, Alpinhotel Pacheiner is located on the Gerlitzen Alp at over 6.2 feet above sea level. It offers ski-to-door access, a gym, a spa area with a sauna and panoramic mountain views, a model airplane center with a workshop, and an observatory. Guests can enjoy swimming in Lake Ossiach, which can be reached with a 20-minute cable car ride. The Pacheiner Alpinhotel also features a playground for children, a sun terrace, and recreation grounds. The on-site restaurant serves a rich selection of Austrian and international dishes. Half-board includes a rich buffet breakfast and a 5-course dinner, while in summer, an afternoon snack with homemade cakes, is furthermore offered. Furnished in a modern Alpine style, the rooms and suites come with a balcony overlooking the mountains, a flat-screen TV, and a modern bathroom with bathrobes and a hairdryer. Apartments also feature a kitchenette and an open fireplace. Gerlitzen Ski Area offers 37 mi of ski runs and there are 15 different cable cars available. The hotel has a heated ski storage room.
