NetherlandsWe were cycling the Alpe Adria trail as a family of three. The hotel is in a historic building in the very center of Villach. Upon arrival, we could park our bikes in a dedicated room in the courtyard. The rooms had a tasteful interior, appropriate form the building, everything was spotless clean and staff were very friendly. The beds were comfortable and the breakfast was very good . Best hotel on our trip, so far. Would definitely book again.

Villach has a cute old town (altstadt) but not much else.
Villach has a cute old town (altstadt) but not much else. Outside of the touristy city center, it's very working-class and dominated by noisy motorways. They somehow managed to completely screw up a very majestic lake view by building a bunch of ugly condominiums on the banks and surrounding it with a noisy road.
If you are thinking about a nice hike/walk/bike ride alongside the lake, forget it. The big road filled with motorhomes and motorcyclists completely ruins any natural enjoyment of this area.

A well looked after town centre, pleasing to the eye.
A well looked after town centre, pleasing to the eye. Plenty of shops, cafes and restaurants. Cycling routes to lakes along the river, actually there are cycling routes to wherever you want to go. It is a starting point for any activity you enjoy doing: cycling, hiking or climbing up mountains, water sports, shopping, eating. And the weather, although you can't order it, is usually favourable.

Gorgeous little city with wonderful people, scenery and vibe. It has a wonderful feel. Great place to visit without all the crowds, traffic and walkable. I only was there 3 days and I already want to return.

Picturesque old town with charming timber-framed buildings and some lively restaurants serving traditional food. We were only there for one night, but had a nice meal and sat in the lovely square with its fountain and bars.

Several bars had the complimentary self proclaimed pretend tough guys ( assume regulars) being loud which was off putting to patronise that bar, but there are others to go to

I stayed in a really small room and this certainly affected the very convenient price, also considering the reservation made only a few days before and the city center location of the hotel, but I was amazed by how minimal, rational and optimized were the type of furnishings and accessories and their arrangement in the room. So much so that staying alone I did not perceive any narrowness in terms of comfort of the room.
Some free parking spaces not bookable that I used on weekdays.

Excellent hotel with beautiful historic design that still maintains modern comfort and functionality. Perfect location right in the city center. Very cyclist-friendly with secure bike storage facilities. The staff was accommodating and allowed us to check in earlier than the official time, which was much appreciated after a long day of cycling. Everything about this hotel was positive - highly recommend!

The apartment was very spacious and exceptionally clean, which made our stay very comfortable. Its location is excellent, very close to the city center, so everything was within easy walking distance. A great bonus was the free parking, which made our trip even more convenient. Overall, a highly recommended place to stay in Villach.
