This is one of the nicest places I have ever stayed in my life. Altaussee has not been discovered by anyone except the Viennese and it is such a wonderful place, not crowded at all yet majestic beyond belief. The property has a couple wooden cabins facing a lovely garden with mountains in the background. The lake is a short walk, and you have a grocery store and fantastic bakery/cafe 1 minute away by foot! The hosts are lovely. Staying here was simply a privilege! My wife would like spend every summer here from now on. The 2-hour walk around the lake is as nice a walk as you can imagine, with glaciers in the background.
