Glen Innes is a stepping stone to the New England high country, Celtic country..
Located on the intersection of the high way coming from the coast, and the Sydney to Brisbane New England highway.
Historical villages scattered throughout the area all within an hour or two from the CBD.
We used Glenn Innes as our base, one day stay, next day adventure, stay, adventure.

Love the countryside, particularly the beautiful shades of colours. The Standing Stones are an exceptional tourist attraction. I also love going to the Crofter's Cottage and the Strawberry Patch.

The external appearance looks dated, but the rooms themselves were clean and tidy and the bed was comfortable. A microwave would have been handy. Reception was open till late, as opposed to the 5pm closing time on booking.com. Nothing flash, but good value for money .Good for a short stay.

Town has a lovely unpretentious gracious feel, beautiful old buildings and stately homes, friendly staff in shops, great pizza and a great fish and chips/takeaway in the main street. Friendly locals who smile and say hello!

A lovely country town in the highlands..
A lovely country town in the highlands.. It seemed a very neat town, the friendly locals were very helpful. Best value and meal in The "Bowlo' {Bowls} club, great Chinese meals at very reasonable prices
This was our 2nd stay at The Bank Guesthouse in Glen Innes and the improvements since our previous stay in 2019 were evident. From the friendly welcome through to the farewell everything was as it should be and Phil and his wife are great hosts. The rooms and lounge upstairs are warm and cosy with reverse cycle aircon and/or electric heating. Very comfortable bed and our own bathroom this time. A cooked breakkie was included and was very adequate. We will be back again one day I'm sure
Good size room, air con kept us warm. Loved there were actual plates, bowls, cutlery, decent sized coffee mugs and glasses in your room. Nice hot shower. Added bonus was a little note pad and pen. Its just those little extras that helps show they are considering guests. Owner is friendly and helpful. These are new owners who are gradually updating the hotel and highly receptive to constructive feedback, which is very appreciative.
Will most definitely return.
Sapphire Cottage proved a great location for our stay in Glen Innes. Spacious, bright and airy with all you’d need for self-catering. Close to town with a relaxing outdoor area. Loved the wood burning stove and the roses in the large garden. Definitely a decided cut above all those bland country motels. We came to participate in The Goodness Gravel cycling event and will be hoping to stay at Sapphire Cottage again next year.
This is a pleasant motel for an overnight stop on the road. It is clean and comfortable with good sized rooms. The location is great as there is a back gate which allows access to the main street of Glen Innes, which gets very quiet at night although there is a great pub to eat just down the road - try the Pipe and Drums if you get the chance. Food is good and staff are super friendly and helpful.
Lovely BnB. Phil is a fantastic, friendly host.
Rooms were spacious, very clean and super comfortable beds. I had the pleasure of having the entire floor to myself during my stay and very much enjoyed the sitting room. Breakfast was delicious and the wood fire made me feel at home. I loved this historic building. Highly recommend this beautiful accommodation travelling to Glen Innes
Lovely location just to the south of Glenn Innnes. Being out of town and amongst fields was excellent. Despite the July conditions, the place was warm and comfy. The nearby Alpacas were a nice touch. The hosts were helpful but gave us our own space and did all they could to provide a comfy stay.
This appears to be an older motel that has been recently done up. It was clean & comfortable with nice beds, electric blankets & plenty of extra blankets to ward off the chilly Glen Innes nights. A well supplied continental breakfast is included in the room price.
A very good, clean and friendly motel. Spacious room with clean bathroom and shower. Good hot water.
My room at the rear of the complex was quiet. Friendly staff. Addition of continental breakfast in the price is a great offering.
It was central to everything.
We just walked next door to the Central hotel for a beautiful meal.
Walked to the service station on the orner for snacks.
Walked up the street.
Perfect location

convenience of location and only motel room left in Glen Innes for the Saturday night - although way over priced for the description and price and inclusions - owner pleasant.
Glen Innes is a lovely old town with all necessary amenities. Pleasant motel in a quiet street. Plenty of food options within a short driving distance.
