The open fireplace combined with the vinyl record collection and the ship-like wainscoting of the dining room makes for a great after-work atmosphere. The spa area in the basement with sauna and sunbathing area is exceptional for a vacation home. From the quietly located cottage a path leads to the neighboring meadows, from where you have a wonderful view of the starry sky. From the breakfast table we could enjoy the alpine peaks. The owner of the house is a professor at the university (something with media), cheerful, friendly and helpful.

This is a wonderful place. Very spacious with immaculate views of the Swiss Alps from the garden where we had breakfast every morning. The lodge is wonderfully furnished with high quality products for guests to use. Beautiful cutlery for example! Vinzenz the host owner is very kind and was full of fabulous ideas and knowledge to help maximise our visits in the local area. He also was on hand for any issues or questions we had ...even simple things like finding where matches were for some lovely candles that were around the house. This was reassuring to know someone was always available to help and advice should you have any queries

The house and surrounding nature are beautiful. You can enjoy going on a hike or just spend a peaceful weekend with your family and friends. All the needed kitchen utensils are in place, the rooms are spacious and comfortable. The host is super helpful and nice. You will definitely enjoy the stay here!

The household, especially the kitchen is well equipped. The garden is big and well-maintained. There are many places in the garden and the patio that invite one to relax and enjoy the beautiful view. The diverse architecture allows for privacy in the many areas. A big plus is the new sauna which was a must for our stay. Additionally, since it's located in a small village, there is no traffic or other noise and it's overall quiet. You can easily sleep with an open window. However, there are many options for all kinds of activities such as hiking, shopping in Solothurn etc. nearby. The host was very kind and responsive. He gave us great recommendations and answered all our questions immediately.

We had a fantastic holiday at lodge Schürmatt. We liked the characterful house with the beautiful garden and the different terraces where you can enjoye the stunting view on the Alpes and the high Jura. Ideal for people who want to relax and at the same time it can serve as a base for beautiful local walks in the Jura, but also for trips to cities (Solothurn, Bern, Basel ...) , the Alps, lakes ... The host is very kind and communicative. He gives a lot of tips and is always available. The house was perfectly equipped and we loved the renovated bathrooms.

The location is really fantastic! After a day walking in nature or in a city we experienced the feeling of "coming home". The view from the house to the Alps is very beautiful. And every day we admired the gracious flight of the red kite. Further on: immediately after leaving the front door a nice footpath starts. That was nice for us, but also for our dogs. The host, mr. Vinzenz Wyss, gave us many useful advises for trips in the neighbourhood f.e. Weissenstein mountain, Sikypark Zoo and a little bit further away f.e. city of Bern.

It is very special to stay in a house that is designed so well. And at the same time it was very comfortabel. House, terrace and garden connect very well. When it is warm you have enough shadow, when it is colder in the evening you have the stove in the gardenroom. We also had the great view in the evening to the Alps. The house was situated in a quiet village which we liked. The city of Solothurn was nearby, but in the village there is a supermarket for food shopping. Vinzenz has organized everything very well for us to let us feel compfortable. He was thoughtful in his messages. We could find everything we needed in the house. It was a great stay for us. So if possible we come back next year, Vinzenz.
