It is a beautiful location away from the touristy parts but close enough to go skiing. Great rooms and wonderful dinner and breakfast.

We stayed at Kern in Seytroux to get away from the busier ski towns around the Porte du Soleil. We were away for just 2 days of skiing and were looking for one night accommodation. Kern was the perfect choice! The town is super quiet, the rumble of the river by our window put us soundly to sleep. The room was lovely. The bonus was dinner at the restaurant. We eat out a lot and our 5 course meal was superb and beats out our favorite restaurants. The staff are very accommodating and were able to ensure we had our breakfast earlier than normal for us to get back out to the ski hill. We would return to enjoy the area more and do some hiking - another stay and chance to eat at Kern would definitely be part of the plan! We arrived in the evening and left early in the day so didn't get a chance to enjoy the beautiful country-side.

Found Kern by accident during a ski break on St Jean d’aulps as we needed an extra couple of nights accommodation and couldn’t find anywhere else. What a find. It’s really a restaurant with a few guest rooms. But what a restaurant! A young chef has opened Kern in December - hence the lack of reviews - and has bravely created a menu of high level cuisine, ( no menu - it’s a ‘chef’s surprise’ of 5 courses) yet in a very relaxed atmosphere. It’s a bit incongruous setting - quiet but beautiful village in the middle of nowhere, but I really hope he makes it. For anyone who had been to L’enclume in the Lake a district, this reminds of what that must have been like when it first started out. Worth making a detour for!

Notre expérience au Kern a été fantastique! La chambre est cosy, confortable mais il ne faut pas avoir peur du bruit. En effet, le Kern étant un ancien moulin, on y entend la rivière. personnellement j'adooore ce type de bruit qui me berce. mais comme ça vous êtes prévnu :-) Concernant le petit déjeuner, il est complet et très bon. Un continental classique de qualité. Le clou du spectacle, réserver une table dans leur restaurant gastronomique et profitter d'une soirée exceptionnel !!! Super Rapport Qualité Prix surtout quand on vient de Suisse. Bref....on a passé un merveilleux séjour, merci au chef et à son excellente équipe :-D !
