Le Mas De La Chérine

After a long Parisian stay, we decided to get back to our roots (Calou is from Moustiers Sainte Marie) and start a new activity, meeting and exchanging with our visitors and taking advantage of the Provençale ‘douceur de vivre’. The Mas just seduced us and it is our goal that it should do the same to you. When you come to us, don't expect luxury. We have chosen nature, simplicity and conviviality.

Le Mas de la Chérine was once a large sheep-fold, dating back to late 17th century. It rests within a 7 ha. domain, altitude 550 m, where oaks and Lebanese cedar-trees provide the shade amidst the garrigue, lavender fields and meadows. It is located in the Verdon Natural Park, home to Giono the writer, on the Valensole plateau, crossroads to the three lakes of Sainte Croix, Esparron and Quinson, close to the low gorges of the Verdon River and the Museum of Prehistory. Ruby and Jakin, our horses, range freely around the park, pleased to be visited by our guests, especially their children. Bada, the cat, and Béru, our young Golden Retriever wander or nap around. We are opened all year long and provide 3 fully equipped cottages for weekly stays and 5 bed&breakfast rooms, for 1, 2 or 4 persons, on a night basis. When you come to us, don't expect luxury. We have chosen nature, simplicity and conviviality. We also provide ‘table d’hôtes’ should you wish to dine here: please confirm 2 days prior to arrival as we cook only regional products bought on local markets or directly from the producer, and always according to the season. Vegetarian and vegan meals are also available.

Relax at Le Mas, in the garden, by the pool or in the patio and enjoy an exceptional panoramic view on the Mont Ventoux, the Lure mountain and the Alps of high Provence with the sole sound of cicadas in summer. You may also wish to hike or bike around, ride horses, swim, canoe or sunbathe by the lakes … it’s just close by. As are the Verdon landscapes and villages by the French Grand Canyon.
