If you’re in the mood for a longer walk there’s a seven-mile circular trail from the pub to a beauty spot called The Cloud. The walk passes through gorgeous countryside and over stiles, with a final climb to the top of The Cloud (about 300 metres) that will reward you with incredible panoramas over the Cheshire Plains and the Peak District. An equally enthralling walk can be enjoyed at Tegg's Nose Country Park which was once a quarry and is steeped in industrial heritage. Or, head to Macclesfield Forest which is perfect for nature-lovers who will enjoy ambling along woodland paths and around the reservoirs, on the lookout for the resident red deer and water birds, including the herons at Trentabank reservoir.
