Our home is situated off the A29 about 4 miles south of Coleraine In the quiet countryside . We are approximately 10 miles from the Giants Causeway all the other attractions on the North Antrim coast are a bit further away ! We are an hours drive from Belfast , 2 & 1/2 hours from Dublin & 3/4 of an hour from the walled city of Londonderry . The ferry from Magilligan to Greencastle in Donegal is a short drive away ! There is also a ferry from Ballycastle to Rathlin Island both of these operate daily during the summer ! Willie is a local builder & we planned & built the property as our family home in 1996 ! We made a few changes to facilitate B / B later on .
I was born on a small farm near the village of Claudy in Co Londonderry from a large family of 9 ! I moved to Coleraine in the early 70's & worked in various places before deciding to do B /B . I enjoy baking & cooking & looking after people just the way my Mother taught me .
Coolmore House is in the town land of Aghadowey which the largest town land in the North of Ireland ! We are surrounded with beautiful countryside , excellent restaurants , top Golf Courses & blue flag beaches . We are close to the River Bann & the Agivey River for anyone interested in angling ! Also we have the NW 200 annual motor bike races in the triangle area which covers Coleraine Portrush & Portstewart ! This is one the the biggest attraction in our area . We could also boast of living near a 3 times world ploughing champion & the area once won the world tug of war championship . World motorbike champion Joey Dunlop & his brother Robert were born approximately 20 miles away both have sadly lost their lives due to motor bike racing .
