Great city for a wee break. Lots to see and do, the choice of restaurants was excellent. The food was really good quality and very reasonably priced. Best of all is the people. The Derry folk were amazingly friendly and helpful. Vey respectful of my elderly mum, offering assistance and services
Derry is an amazing city to visit. It is a walled city packed full of culture, history, shops, places of interest etc. It is also a city emerging from conflict and so there are museums and murals to tell the story of the conflict from different points of view. People are amazingly friendly. Derry is a gateway city to the North west and only 90 minutes from Belfast and it even has its own airport. Great place for families, couples of all ages, groups etc. There are plenty of good restaurants, cafes, shops etc and some great hotels, although you should avoid the Hotel Inn Express in Derry at all costs..... Derry is famous for many festivals, art events and culture etc but the biggest festival is at Halloween when the city is jam packed with visitors, has a week of events and practically everyone dresses up....
I saw this online and booked it for my husbands 60th birthday. We stayed 2 nights. The hotel was clean bed was a bit hard for me but my husband thought it was right for him, we had 2 breakfasts and the food was gorgeous we had 2 dinners and again the food was gorgeous the only thing I could say there wasn’t enough choices on the menu. The staff where fantastic very helpful, we used the pool and the hot tub which was fantastic I wanted my husband to just relax and do nothing and he done that he loved it. I would recommend this hotel. I can’t comment on outside of the hotel as we didn’t leave the hotel
Derry is a beautiful city and has it's own character, the building are superb, easy to get around, very interesting history, variety of good restaurants, must do the tour to learn the history of the troubles in Ireland
I took my family down to enjoy the Halloween festivities.Unfortunately the heavy rain put a stop to some of the activities we wanted to do.My family managed to experience the friendliness of the people from the city despite the weather and we walked round the city looking at the old buildings..In the morning we managed to walk round the walls enjoying a small slice of history before the heavens opened again..Due to bad weather and time constraints we had to abandon plans to visit the Waterside and especially the funfair at Ebrington but that is on the to do list now.We all felt that having had a taster of what this city can offer , we will be making plans to come back for a longer and hopefully drier visit Ps We enjoyed a lovely breakfast at The Pickled Duck near to The Guildhall
Friendliness of staff, visit to Tower Museum fantastic value for money . City seems to be well spruced up and inviting .visit too short to avail of other attractions Had a lovely meal in Browns in Town.
Derry Londonderry
I would normally stay in hotels as I don't really like B&B 's because you are in people's houses & are worried about making noise etc, but with this Garden Room you are out on your own not having to bother anyone. My daughter & I had a great stay , location good not too far from city centre, taxi only £4, which we only used at night to go into centre fof a drink. Had an excellent meal @ Fitzroys Restaurant, would definitely recommend.., although book in advance before you go.
We stayed two nights in the Waterfoot Hotel.. All the staff were extremely helpful and professional. Megan checked us in on reception and next day Adam and another girl whose name I didn't get were on duty. All three were very pleasant and obliging. We didn't have breakfast but had an evening meal and it was excellent. Bar,restaurant and housekeeping staff were all very nice too. The room was spacious and spotless. Would stay in this hotel again.
Great breakfast (recommend the eggs benedict). Staff were very friendly. We only stopped here for one night and had to be on our way early for a climbing competition at the Foyle Arena (10 minutes away). It's a small hotel, so I wouldn't plan a long stay here with a young family. But for our needs on this trip, it was perfect. Location is great, too. (Also the kids loved that there was hot chocolate and biscuits in the room.)
Derry Londonderry
The room was very nice and when we asked staff for a good restaurant, they recommended The Kesh, where we ended up going twice. They also gave us our own fridge when we asked for some space in theirs and warmed up some food for us. Close to border with Ireland. Wild Ireland park, Londonderry and Glenveagh National Park easily accessible.
Derry Londonderry
Superb family room with everything we needed. Excellent location for the city centre. Stephen is a great owner and excellent staff were so friendly and professional. Loved the lounge and great breakfast. 5* B&B which has the level of finish and amenties to compare favouraby with a boutique hotel. We will definately be back.
Ideal location - a short walk from the airport taxi/bus - central for the city centre and walk along the riverside and across the Peace bridge. Hotel was clean and the downstairs bar area was ideal for meeting up with family. Staff were all very friendly and wanted to ensure that everything was going well with your visit.
Derry Londonderry
Couldnt recommend this place highly enough! Every bit as comfortable as a hotel bit with the homely atmosphere of a B&B. Fantastic property, Excellent location, Super friendly host. Very comfortable and uniquely decorated.
Hotel were very accomodating in my request for a room with a view and left us a card for our anniversary which was a lovely touch. The location is fantastic and a short walk to all the local restaurants and nightlife.
Parking was a huge advantage. The location within the walls was excellent and convenient to everything. We had breakfast at the hotel every morning; the service was great and the food was very appealing.
Everything! Words are not enough to say how fabulous our stay was. A huge thank you to the bishops gate hotel staff for making this much needed family break simply wonderful xx

I did not like anything about it the hotel is a bad memory. The manager was unhelpful and did not seem to care if we stayed or went home.
Location was superb. Located just outside of the City Centre but not too far outside. Beautiful hotel, with lovely welcoming staff.
Welcoming staff, everyone was very friendly. Hotel was lovely! Will definitely be back. Ideal location to Derry city centre
