A stay at Bellbrook Wildlife Reserve is the ideal rural escape, as we're hidden away in beautiful countryside. Wake up to birdsong & enjoy the magic of nature! Explore country pubs, long walks on Exmoor & many local attractions all around 30 minutes drive. The Holt has been mindfully furnished to create a warm and welcoming place where guests can relax and feel right at home. It's the perfect base for exploring all this area has to offer and is set down a quiet country lane, nestled in a wooded valley. The private 'Wildlife Reserve' we're creating here on the farm is purely for guests staying at Bellbrook; this ensures you have a sense of space, can find a peaceful spot to relax and enjoy your holiday even more knowing that it's helping the conservation of our native wildlife. Once inside this lovely bolthole there's an open plan living area with a large reclining sofa so guests can snuggle up, watch a movie or catch up on a box set on the Smart TV (use your own details to log in to Prime, Netflix etc). There's also a small dining table and a well equipped kitchen area with dishwasher, fridge freezer, microwave, recycled glassware and Denby crockery. The brand new bathroom is spacious and bright with a walk in shower and the newly decorated bedroom is calm and peaceful. There is space in the bedroom for a travel cot so it's perfect for small families too. The garden is fully fenced, with the lane to one side and our chickens and ducks on the other. It's a lovely spot for relaxing and has two areas of decking as well as a hot tub which is tucked away on the patio area to ensure your privacy. The Holt, which was once a fishing lodge, is attached to our farmhouse and due the terrain is not suitable for those with mobility challenges.

Hi! My name's Ellen and I'm lucky to live at Bellbrook Farm. We're passionate about providing sustainable and unique holidays where guests can enjoy the magic of nature! We are creating a wildlife reserve here at the farm to provide a haven for wildlife and for our guests. Bellbrook Farm is tranquil and beautiful place, hidden away from the hurly-burly of life. We love the nature and the night skies and look forward to sharing it with you. We are available during office hours and until 8pm for emergencies. We are not contactable between 8pm and 8am

We love living here because of the peace and quiet, amazing night skies and the abundance of wildlife. We are a quiet rural community with a great village pub. Guests will need a car and as the lanes in the immediate area are narrow, reversing is an essential skill 😉 We are beautifully rural - this means there isn't immediate access to shops, cafes and local attractions and food/takesway deliveries aren't possible. The lovely town of Bampton is only 5 miles away and Tiverton and Exmoor are both 7 miles away. We have a great pub in Oakford, The Red Lion, which is 1.5 miles away. Here at Bellbrook we work with Devon Wildlife Trust and #IDigTrees to promote biodiversity and to ensure the magic of nature is not lost. This does mean our landscaping is done by Mother Nature so there are no manicured lawns or artful hedges in sight. Parts of the reserve are left wild - this creates a haven for wildlife and for you. Guests are encouraged to explore the four lakes (not suitable for swimming) which are set over six acres and can hope to spot lots of native wildlife including endangered species such as water vole as well as deer and kingfishers. For guests who like lots of days out there are many local attractions within a 30 minute drive such as two National Trust properties, Haddon Hill & Wimbleball Lake, Devon Railway Centre, Bickleigh Mill, Quince Honey Farm, Exmoor Pony Centre (combine this with a visit to Dulverton for cream tea) and Tiverton has a canal with a cafe, horse drawn barge, a museum and castle. There is also an excellent riding stables that takes riders along Exmoor. As we're just 2 miles from The North Devon Link Road beautiful beaches are about an hour away.
