Originally a 17th century coaching inn, the Crown & Anchor is now a family run traditional country pub and restaurant in the award winning village of Welby overlooking the village green. Opposite is The Cottage, a separate en-suite room equipped with all the amenities necessary to make your time away from home a pleasurable stay. Our emphasise is on providing great service, delicious food and drink in a cosy and tranquil setting to make your stay a memorable one.

Set in the idyllic countryside of Lincolnshire, the Crown and Anchor is a is an attractive stone-built 17th century quintessential English country pub and restaurant located in the beautiful village of Welby, the winners of Lincolnshire's Best Kept Village award. The property is 5 miles East of Grantham access via either the A52 or B6043 and within easy reach of the A1 and the market towns of Grantham, Melton Mowbray, Stamford and Oakham. With excellent road, rail and bus links from Grantham, it makes exploring the nearby cities of Lincoln, Leicester, Peterborough and Nottingham simple. Nearby are fishing lakes, golf courses, manor houses including a castle, a nature reserve with water sports and numerous walks. The Cottage is en-suite with a comfortable king size bed, a double sized sprung sofa bed, 42" wide screen television, free wi-fi, tea and coffee making facilities, a toaster, fridge, ample wardrobe space and a hair dryer. The main building opposite comprises of a bar, restaurant, garden room and outside seating area, some of which are undercover, serving sandwiches, pub classics, steaks, Sunday lunch and some more adventurous dishes Tuesday to Sunday.
