It’s a super wee village with all the shops, cafes, bars and restaurants you would want. Close to woodland walks from the town and short drive to the river and mountains of the Cairngorms a more relaxed feel than the nearby town of Aviemore.

A beautiful area with ancient forest, a local honey maker, an amazing selection of local shops - refillery, bookshop, stationery shop, big supermarket. This is a lovely place to stay to explore the Cairngorm national park. Easy to drive to highlights like Rothy Murchus and Loch Garten. The rooms are to a high standard with excellent facilities, the evening meal and breakfast were to a very high standard and staff were very accommodating with unusual allergies. Nothing was too much for any of the staff and when I arrived very early at the hotel due to illness (and so not being able to carry the days planned activities), the staff went above and beyond to get my room ready ASAP so I could check in. All round great experience and would highly recommend!

Our charming hosts bought the business only one year before. They were warm, very welcoming and keen to recommend dinner options nearby. The living rooms and bar area seemed warm and inviting although we didn't avail ourselves of these as one of us was feeling unwell. Breakfast was served in a very pleasant sunroom. Chinese takeaway across the road was fab too.

Lots of places to visit in the car. This was an old cottage and the owners have tried to bring it up to date with new windows, heating and a lovely shower room upstairs. There were nice touches like a torch, umbrella and binoculars by the door. It was cleaned well and smelled fresh on entering.
