Flora has a beautiful enclosed south facing garden. Luxurious modern interiors with super comfy Hypnos mattress, king size bed, Egyptian cotton sheets, turntable, radio & TV. Unwind, explore the outdoors or relax in our Skargard Swedish wood fired hot tub. There's also a solar powered 3m canopy to enjoy for those rainy days. The Garden Rooms have everything you need for the perfect romantic escape. Discover the beauty of Lonton Coffee, Alpaca's at dawn and the dark skies of Teesdale.
If there’s anything you need such as extra logs, kindling or help with the hot tub just text us on the number we provided in your reservation message and we will do our best to help.
The Local Villages & Eating Out: Lonton is between two beautiful villages: Middleton in Teesdale, (1 mile) where you’ll find a local butcher, a brilliant Fish & Chip shop, pizza take away, an antique shop, 2 eating pubs (The Teesdale & The Foresters), there's a delicatessen/cafe (Samuel James - delicious cakes!), a couple of little cafe's, a pharmacy, fuel station and a late night Co-op store where you can buy groceries, fresh fruit and vegetables etc. Mickleton is also just one mile the other way by car or a short walk along the disused railway track and also has a lovely traditional pub (The Blacksmiths Arms) that offers homemade pizza’s to eat in or take away. LOOK OUT FOR: The Crown in Mickleton - pop up Street food. Open every now and then - fantastic street food to take away or eat in their beer garden. The Rose & Crown in Romaldkirk, gorgeous food and setting (just 3 miles) - BUT PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU BOOKIN ADVANCE. The Local Area: Teesdale is 'officially' an area of outstanding natural beauty and wonderful place to explore with stunning walks, scenery and waterfalls. High Force waterfall is only 6 miles from us. Visit the High Force Hotel a lovely pub for afternoon tea or a spot of lunch. Barnard Castle is a bustling market town with a superb offering of antique shops (past the Butter Market - down the bank), bakers and eateries - just 9 miles from Lonton. There's riverbank and woodland walks near to the castle or visit the The Bowes Museum (our very own French chateau in the Dale) with rolling exhibitions and lovely cafe - this really is a must if you have the time. Raby Castle is also just a few miles away and is a stunning location with it's beautiful gardens, restaurant, cafe and roaming wild deer.
