Welcome to Shortflatt Tower, a 13th century historic country mansion and one of Northumberland’s most beautiful residences, set in idyllic surroundings with well-tended walled gardens and ancient woodland. Set in a private estate, we offer comfortable elegance in an area of natural beauty. The grade 1 listed courtyard cottages are located in the curtilage of Shortflatt Tower. The stables and buildings have been carefully and lovingly restored and converted into 6 luxurious cottages with a mix of 2,3 and 5 bedrooms.

The Gardener’s cottage has three bedrooms: two doubles (one on the ground floor) and one that can be twin or double. The cottage also has two rainfall shower bathrooms and one separate toilet room, along with a spacious kitchen-diner, cosy sitting room, and outdoor BBQ area.

With a variety of areas to stroll or sit and relax in the garden and parkland, it is truly a wonderful space to explore. The Ancient tree-lined drive is a kilometre long, providing great privacy and uninterrupted views across the estate. The village of Belsay is just a short drive away. Here, you can explore the local businesses or visit Belsay Hall. There are lots of country walks, including Bolam Lake, or if activities are more your thing, there are lots to choose from in the surrounding areas of Newcastle.
