The location was near the town. There is also a spa.on site which is booked separately which has a jacuzzi, sauna and Buddha room. Treatments can also be booked and I had hot stone therapy. I will definitely return to this retreat.

In the grounds of Heath Cliff House stands Hidden Gem Retreat. It offers a magical stay in its beautifully appointed studio apartment with a peaceful relaxed welcoming ambiance. It is situated on a quiet leafy road on the outskirts of Budleigh Salterton and just around the corner from the village pub in Knowle. The accommodation is easily accessible to Budleigh Salterton with a traditional high street pebble beach and sea front. It also benefits from close proximity to the South West Coast Path following the Jurassic Coast. There are lovely walks to Woodbury Common and the River Otter is close by. The owners extend a warm welcome to all their guests and are happy to share any information about the local area and top tips for your holiday in Devon. HOLISTIC TREATMENTS & SPA USE: Holistic treatments, or your very own private spa morning with use of a hot tub, sauna, stunning gardens to relax or sunbathe in a magical relaxation room and terrace are available to book at an extra cost during your visit with the Host, Maria, a highly qualified and experienced therapist. Early booking advised to avoid disappointment.

Neighborhood info

This dignified, elegant, Edwardian resort has very much a character all of its own. The town is set into red sandstone sea cliffs with a sweeping pebble beach. Impressive cliff walks, the riverside bird sanctuary and open country of East Devons Pebbled Heaths are all factors which rightly make Budleigh Salterton so popular. Woodbury Common is designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest and is excellent for walking, riding, cycling or just picnicking. If the arts are more your thing, enjoy the Budleigh Literary Festival in September. The town has an excellent choice of shops and amenities offering ‘old world’ standards of service. There is also a good selection of restaurants, pubs and a wonderful ice cream shops! The pebbled beach in Budleigh Salterton stretches for two miles and is perfect for bathing in the crystal-clear water on a summer’s day or kayaking with Devon Kayaks. Enjoy the South West Coast Path year round, perfect for exploring on a winter break. On Sundays (weather depending) you can watch the local fishermen bringing their catch ashore and nothing beats buying the fresh fish and cooking it for supper in one of our holiday cottages in Budleigh Salterton!
