Described by Agents as one of the most desirable properties in Teignmouth, Highleigh House is located in the sought after area of East Teignmouth, With sea views it is bordered by lush fields. One of the only non properties left in the area that has not been converted to flats -Highleigh is a large double-fronted Victorian house built in 1876, on the edge of Teignmouth looking over the town and fields to the sea. It has been converted into a virtually ‘zero carbon’ eco-house, featuring: wood burning stove, wood chip boiler, Solar thermal heating, secondary glazing, draught proofing, Smart Heating controls Highleigh gives you everything – a secluded space with wonderful views and yet it is only minutes away from everything to ensure you will have an entertaining break. This beautiful Victorian property is tucked away in its own walled garden, with beautiful flowerbeds and a sunroom for relaxation. This family-friendly four-bedroom home is perfect for two or three groups who like to entertain.
The fabulous town of Teignmouth rests at river mouth of the River Teign and has beaches and activities that can provide entertainment for everyone. A seaside town on the famous stretch of coast which follows the curves of Devon’s red sandstone cliffs. It is steeped in history, which can be explored in the local museum, Teignmouth grew from smuggling (visit the various hidden passages to secluded beaches), shipbuilding (it has been an important port for more than 300 years), the cod fishing industry and eventually access via the Great Western Railway. The Victorian pier is a landmark and provides one of many activities along the seafront. There is loads to do in Teignmouth. Start off on the seafront, where there is a children's play area, a skate park, a miniature golf course, and the lido. Teignmouth Pavilions is a theatre and cinema and provides all sorts of action. The Teign Heritage Museum has exhibitions and galleries and the new Arts Quarter has grown up around Northumberland Place showcases numerous artists.
