We had a change of career a few years ago, and purchased a small number of holiday cottages in the Peak District, which we look after personally. We work in the Peak District, so are always nearby on-call should you need any help or support during your stay. We look after our cottages and our guests personally and are on-call throughout your stay should you need any help or advice.

Property info

Hope Cottage is a stone built cottage situated near the heart of the delightful village of Great Longstone, with views across to Longstone Edge. Centrally located in a beautiful part of the Peak District National Park, this is an ideal location for exploring on foot with lovely walks from the doorstep, or riding a bike through the many quiet lanes and footpaths of the area. This cottage is full of character and is only a short walk from two village pubs, both with a good reputation for food. Pets are welcome – please note that this cottage only has a small patio area – but there are numerous short and long walks available from the door. We ask that dogs are kept downstairs, not allowed on the furniture and not left alone in the cottage.

Neighborhood info

Great Longstone is an attractive limestone village set around a pretty little green. The village lies under the ridge of Longstone Edge, and is just 2 miles from Bakewell. It has some charming old cottages along the main street, a handsome Georgian Manor House and a pretty church dating from the13th century. Former industries included lead mining and shoemaking, now it is a quiet residential village along with nearby hamlets of Rowland, Hassop and Little Longstone There are regular bus services between the towns and villages in the Peak District, but a car is desirable to get to the more remote places
