House Martin cottage is a beautiful barn conversion, which is part of a small complex at Newhouse Barton with beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. There is a shared heated indoor swimming pool, games room and a very well equipped playground on site open all year round. The kitchen-diner is fully equipped with everything you need including washer/dryer, dishwasher, microwave, fridge-freezer and electric hob and oven. The living area has been recently renovated to a high standard, and features a cosy wood burner for those cold evenings. Upstairs are two comfortable ensuite bedrooms. One king-size double bedroom, with shower. One twin room, with a shower over the bath (please note the bath is slightly smaller than full size). There is a private outside seating area with barbecue. You can also access more public open areas if you want to socialise with other guests at the complex. There is free parking onsite in the car park, just a short walk from the cottage. There are also two electric car charging points in the car park for guest use.
We are very keen to make your stay at House Martin as enjoyable as possible. We live in the next village so can usually respond very quickly if our guests have questions or need anything urgently.
House Martin is part of Newhouse Barton, a small group of converted barns about 1 mile outside the village of Ipplepen in South Devon. It sits in its own, beautifully maintained grounds amidst stunning countryside views in all directions. The village of Ipplepen has a small supermarket, post office and pub. Totnes is a short drive away with its numerous pubs and restaurants, quirky local shops and the beautiful river Dart. Although the cottage is set in a remote rural location, it is close to many amenities, including Dartmoor (5 miles), Torquay (6 miles) and Dartmouth and the beautiful South Devon coast (19 miles). Totnes is less than 3 miles away. We provide guests with their own guide which includes some of the many activities in the area, places to visit and walks we enjoy as well as a few of our favourite local pubs and restaurants.
