The site is beautiful and the facilities are ample. We loved to open the door and see so many sheep in the morning. The host is very easy to communicate with and the pod is big enough to fit us 3 adults. It should be no problem to fit a family of...

Four cosy wooden pods situated 4 miles NW from the village of Lairg in a rural location. The pods (approx. 6.5m x 3.5m) are heated with en-suite facilities and boast a small kitchenette with everything you need for a self catering stay (electric hob and microwave, there is no oven or toaster but a toasty pan means you don't miss out). Sleeping up to 4 people there is a double bed and a full sized sofa bed with bedding and towels packs are included (the pods are ideal for 2 adults or 2 adults and 2 children, may feel a bit cosy with 4 adults). Each pod offers stunning views which can be enjoyed from their own patio area and each pod also has a fire pit so that you can enjoy the views and night sky keeping warm and cosy. Whilst the pods are not loch side, the pods have lovely views over to Loch Shin and it isn't far to get to the 26 mile loch from the site and Anita and John are happy to advise on where to access the loch for fishing, swimming, kayaking and paddleboarding. We have a EV home charger for use (must be booked in advance). There is no Wifi available in the pods due to our location however, there is a very good 4G signal.
Your hosts Anita & John have always enjoyed the outdoors and love exploring the Highlands. Alongside the pods they run a small croft where they keep sheep, a small herd of red deer, five highland coos (Bonnie, Fifi, Bruce and Lewis), Rosie, Alma, Kay, Nancy and Asher (the alpacas) and chickens (don't worry no noisy cockerels). You can enjoy feeding the coos, deer and alpacas or collect some fresh eggs for your breakfast. Anita & John love meeting and chatting to guests and are really happy to give recommendations for activities, routes, walks and attractions. Equally if you prefer to be left alone to enjoy your holiday the guest information has a plenty of suggestions for days out and trips.
There are some lovely walks easily accessible from the pod field. For the more adventurous there are a number of munros (mountains over 3000ft) within an hours drive of the site. The guest information in each pod highlights a number of day trips and local attractions. We often have people using the pods as a base to explore the NC500 with most attractions within 45 miles of the site.
