This is the second time we have stayed at Mill Cottage and we will definitely return. The cottage is perfectly located - in the quaint village of Parbold with easy access to neighbouring towns and cities. The local coffee shop and pubs are great and the walk along the canal is stunning. The cottage itself is maintained to a very high standard. The hosts are very responsive and happy to answer ant questions. They have thought of all finer details making the stay feel very special. We have stayed here both during the warmer Summer months and during Winter and both times it has been perfect each time.

Victorian two bed character home-from-home with private parking and secluded garden. Recently renovated and appointed to a high standard. Walk everywhere! Three fantastic pubs all within 4 minutes and two cafes within 1 minute all serving food. Indian, Chinese, fish and chips takeaway within 2 minutes. A convenience store 3 minutes. Scenic bike rides, beautiful strolls along the canal. 20 minute train journey to the beach or 50 minutes for a shopping spree in Manchester city.
I am married with two beautiful children and I know the local area extremely well. Its been a dream of mine to offer a Holiday Cottage for 20+ years. I have high expectations and having stayed at many guest houses over the years I know what I look for and always found myself saying what I would like to offer or do differently. So an opportunity came up and I am very excited to hopefully give you a very memorable holiday experience. Thank you to my wife for her patience, and suggestions including my two children whom have helped in the garden or test the toys to make sure they are suitable! I can meet you personally and show you around. Alternatively you can access the property from the key safe. The choice is yours!
Parbold is a semi rural village located in West Lancashire set in a beautiful valley but only 10 minutes to get to the M6. The Leeds Liverpool canal runs through the village. The residents of Parbold are very friendly and welcoming of visitors. People here are very active, dog walkers, cyclists and joggers. There is a strong community spirit and many festivals and activities happening throughout the year. Two children's playgrounds, and a sports field for the older ones. Local farms and cafes providing ice creams and baked goods. Amazing local wildlife with several animal sanctuary's where you can interact with the animals. A convenience store for those every day essentials, independent shops, village hall with its own cinema, theatre performances and regular artisan markets. Beauty salons, spas, a great butcher and bakery. Parbold has it all, so much to do that a return visit is a must! There are five free car parks around the village. A regular bus service going through the village to take you to the nearest towns. A train station to take you to Southport or Manchester. Easy access to the historical town of Ormskirk.
