Newly appointed, spacious annexe (with underfloor heating throughout) in a quiet rural village with award winning pub, village store/cafe within short walking distance. The surrounding countryside is full of wonderful footpaths, with access to Culmstock Beacon, where stunning views can be enjoyed of the Blackdown Hills, an area of outstanding natural beauty. Ideal for walkers and cyclists and those who want a quiet secluded break. We are within easy reach of M5 motorway midway between the coasts. You are very welcome to stay in our recently built new apartment with all the mod cons, including underfloor heating and superfast fibre ethernet broadband as well as wifi. The main entrance is into the living room/dining room and a fully equipped kitchen with seating and table. There is a fridge/ small freezer, a countertop hob and all the utensils you would expect from your own home including tea, proper coffee, and milk in the fridge, etc. As you walk through the apartment there is the bathroom with walk in shower and heated towel rail. Then the bedroom with double bed and all important new comfy and firm mattress to sleep the night away after a long river walk or dinner at our award winning pub; 'The Culm Vallley' (worth booking in advance). Leading from the bedroom there is a patio with bbq for those that like al fresco dining or a fresh morning air cup of coffee. We are 10 mins drive from the M5 and there is private parking for 2 cars. If you have any particular requirements I am sure we can source them for you, including some home cooked food if you arriving late or just don't want to cook because you are on holiday! We don't provide breakfast, but we can, to your requirements, if prearranged. There are books and games in the living room and access to Netflix on the Smart TV. For those that want to avoid the few steps to the main entrance there are the french doors leading into the bedroom that avoids all steps and the apartment is all on one level.
Hi, I am married with 2 daughters. I was born and have lived in Devon for most of my life and really enjoy living in the rural location of Culmstock with access to lovely country walks and the M5 motorway. I enjoy walking, swimming and involvement in village life as a parish councillor. I am looking forward to hosting guests, and sharing local knowledge, to enable them to take advantage of the beautiful surrounding area.
We have our award winning local pub 'The Culm Valley' in the village, as well as 'The Strand stores'; shop, cafe and deli (for delicious pack lunch treats). There is the stunning Jurassic Coast and the quaint seaside resort of Lyme Regis, and Beer are all 30 mins away. We have the two national parks Exmoor and Dartmoor about 40 minutes away. Or just on the doorstep is the perfect location for exploring the surrounding area of the Blackdown Hills (an area of outstanding natural beauty) or simply enjoy the beautiful rivers, walks or cycling from the doorstep! For cyclists there is a secure lock up for bikes. And families with small children (if pre organised) there is a log cabin play room in the garden which you are welcome to use with games and an extensive BRIO wooded train set. And different types of bed arrangements can be organised including bunk beds!
