The cottage has been nicely decorated and had everything we needed. Oriel has provided some information and books about the local area. We enjoyed the walk from the cottage to the Naughty Stone - around an hour to an hour and a half, through...

A well-located, self-catering cottage that met our needs, including visiting old haunts in South Wales and attending a family event in the Gower. The accommodation is simple, compact, but well-furnished, comfortable, and practical - exactly as...

With easy access to the A465 Heads of the Valleys and connectivity to other transport routes. A great base to explore south Wales - Whether you're looking for an overnight stay or short break the cottage is in prime location for ramblers, caving enthusiasts and general lovers of the outdoors. Three miles from the historic town of Tredegar (the birthplace of the NHS), and within ten miles from both Cyfartha Retail Park and Festival Shopping outlets - there's also something for the serious bargain hunter. With travel time to Cardiff less than an hour, and 14 miles from the Abergavenny Food Festival - Chartist Cottage is ideal for an inexpensive stay for local shows and festivals. Originally a stable, the cottage became home to fourteen members of a local quarry family. With no two cottages the same - it has a charm of its own. With Bike Park Wales only 14 miles away and with a selection of local bike trail routes; garage storage of bikes can be provided at owners own risk. Here on business...you'll be assured of a peaceful stay. Internet is provided with good coverage and is in close proximity to the Ebbw Vale Enterprise Zone and Circuit of Wales Development.
Shwmae/Hello from Trefil! The cottage has been in my possession for eight years - from those earliest Sunday bike ride memories to finally fulfilling my childhood dream to have my own 'piece' of Trefil. Most of the renovation work has been done by 'yours truly', and with no two walls the same, has hopefully added an element of charm! I've tried to be conscientious in the use of furnishings, through up-cycling some items. It's early days for Chartist Cottage with plans for raised veg beds in the hope of offering fresh produce in the future. Interests: I'm Welsh speaking, with a huge love of music - the more eclectic the better, photography, climbing mountains (we have a few here in South Wales) and experimenting with hot glass fusion. With the day job working in sustainability my ultimate ambition would be to take Chartist Cottage 'off grid' - I also make a mean chocolate brownie - Look forward to welcoming you!
