Our previously booked accommodation was cancelled at 10.15 the night before we were due to depart on our trip the following morning. We were very disappointed and the alternative offered would not have met our needs at all. I found this property and thankfully could accommodate us at extremely short notice. Nothing was too much trouble for the host and it was a truly lovely house and location absolutely ideal.

This warm and inviting home in the heart of Hampton court is an ideal location for a family or group to enjoy all this historic area has to offer. Sitting just opposite the River Thames, the house is a 5 minute walk from Hampton Court Palace, Bushy Park, a direct train in to central London and a host of shops, restaurants and cafes.
I'm a South African born Kiwi who has lived in this area for over 20 years. I own Journeyman Pictures, a well known documentary company which is based around the corner in Thames Ditton. I started life as a TV journalist running from war zone to war zone but these days prefer my travel to be a bit more comfortable, though never too comfortable. The sight of a deck chair by a pool terrifies me more than any thing.
The house sits in the heart of historic Hampton Court village. A short stroll up the road takes you to a wealth of delightful cafes, independent shops, antique shops and a wide selection of restaurants and pubs catering to all tastes. Hampton Court Palace sits just across the river and offers a fantastic day out for the whole family, as well as regular events such as food and craft festivals, music concerts and more. Opposite the house is a riverside path, offering miles of walks alongside this beautiful stretch of the River Thames as well as boat hire and ferry rides. Beyond Hampton Court Palace is the historic Bushy Park, where Henry VIII once hunted deer. You can still spot plenty of deer roaming in this gorgeous parkland, perfect for walks, cycling or for kids to explore and enjoy the large playground.
