Great location - in a dark skies area with a wonderful view of the stars and we got to watch the sheep go past our bedroom window every morning. Very comfortable apartment. Wonderfully quiet at night.

Property info

These stunning apartments in Northumberland boast panoramic views under the darkest skies in Europe - and that's official ! If the night sky permits, the stars are amazing as there is no light pollution. Located down a private drive in a quiet tranquil location in the Northumberland National Park for pure escapism. The apartments are for couples only and aimed at travellers who are looking for a peaceful time with no noise pollution. There are only three apartments in the building, all with separate entrances and the Stargazers takes up the whole of the top floor. North Star has huge windows to enjoy the unspoilt view and entrance to Little Star is via double doors at the back of the house - both ground floor. There is secure bike lock up for all 3 apartments. Private parking outside the building for 1 car per apartment. There is a wonderful country pub within 10 minutes walking distance - The Holly Bush Inn, Greenhaugh and they have a fine selection of real ale and serve great food (Booking is advisable). The Village of Bellingham is 5 miles away and there is a Co-op, chemist, post office, garage and butcher, pubs and coffee stops. We are only 10 minutes from Otterburn.

Neighborhood info

There are walks from the front door and lots of cycling both road and mountain bike. Kielder lake and observatory are 20 minutes away. Hexham with its glorious Abbey is only 35 minutes. Just further along there is the Roman village of Corbridge - all worth a visit. Hadrian Wall with forts and discovery sites together with 'The Sill' information centre and cafe are only 30 minutes away. The wonderful Northumberland Coast is also accessible from the apartments and Bamburg is 90 minutes. Alnwick is worth a visit to see the Castle and the Gardens as well as Barter Books and this will take just an hour. The National Trust property of Cragside near Rothbury is a wonderful day out and will take approximately 40 minutes. There is also Wellington Hall which is another special National Trust property and that is just over 30 minutes away. Lots to see and do if the mood takes but this is also a wonderful location just to relax and recharge !
