Beside the River Wansbeck in Northumberland, the family-run Riverside Guest House offers bed and breakfast in the market town of Morpeth. There is a wide choice of breakfast, free parking and Wi-Fi. Everything of top quality - even the cotton sheets on the beds were starched! Very good breakfast - I chose pancakes with maple syrup. Lovely view from our twin room facing west over the river area. Quiet. Easy walking distance to shops, restaurants etc. Our bikes were housed in a locked storage area.

Featuring a shared lounge, Castle View Bed and Breakfast features accommodations in Morpeth. A fridge and kettle are also available. The Castle View Bed & Breakfast exceeded all our expectations. The property has been tastefully decorated to a very high standard. Our room was spacious and exceptionally clean. Room had tea and coffee facilities, iron/ironing board, hairdryer, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel etc. The hosts made us feel very welcome and the breakfast was excellent. The location was great for visiting the Metro centre and tourist attractions. I would highly recommend this B&B to anyone visiting Morpeth or surrounding areas.

Plow Inn offers accommodations in Ellington. Guests can enjoy the on-site bar. Free WiFi is featured throughout the property and free private parking is available on site. Rooms have a flat-screen TV.... We stayed at the Plough Inn for a family funeral, the after service meal was held here. Food was excellent, as were all the staff. The bedroom could have been warmer, but I would recommend the Plough Inn to anyone visiting the area. The hosts Ethan and Holly worked so hard to make sure everyone was happy.

Located in Morpeth in the Northumberland region, Owls Nest at an Animal Sanctuary has a garden. Even though Kim was off on hols she rang and went out of her way to accommodate an extra nights stay, Owls Nest is so tranquil what a beautiful place x x
The tourist information office was very helpful but the railway station is a long downhill walk away. The Bull PH almost opposite the tourist office serves excellent meals and several real ales...always a good sign.
Morpeth is an interesting little town with quite good shops and restaurants, pleasant walks by the river and a lovely park (Carlisle Park). It's not a big town and easy to get around. Places to eat that we would recommend are The Chantry Tearooms and Italian restaurant called Piano
A pleasant surprise, a very nice contained town that still allowed traffic through it. A good think when one is a stranger to the area, it's easy to see what's available whilst driving through. Large enough but not too big, it retained a feel of community and easy walking. Plenty of choice, a nice main street with a variety of shops including plenty of independents. Some pleasant arcades with a cafe culture feel.
There was no information as to how to operate things. No body to show how the system worked. The static mobile phone was described as a Lodge/ apartment which it was not. Told that due to Covid there would be no towels but there were. Other similar lodges were better equipped with better facilities and more luxurious ie dish washer, washing machine, hot tub, food hampers biscuits choc wine and was much cheaper. Ours was basic and cost more. The person who was supposed to help was new and inexperienced and gave false information. We booked because the information stated that there was a swimming pool that we could use but there was not. No shops or facilities on site and we were left with no supplies. Information given about how far places like Cragside, was false. Overall very poor customer service a d we would never recommend.
I'm looking for a property in Northumberland so Morpeth is an ideal spot to travel around the areas I'm interested in. Easy access to the coast and villages inland. Parking is excellent, just buy the £1 permit (available from loads of shops) and you can park in all car parks using that. Excellent. There a re lovely river walks and an interesting town.
The park and river walks are great. Lovely range of shops (independent and big names), and a good range of quality charity shops. Easy parking once you have a parking disc (£1 from most stores). Nice restaurants, though many are upstairs if you have mobility issues. There’s long stay parking underground at Morrison’s.
Morpeth
Great location only got to turn right out of village and drive down road for a short distance to pick up the costal road to Warkworth castle and Ambel.Turn left and Morpeth is only 10 mins down the road and A1 only 15 mins away.Loverly place to stay rooms are loverly and breakfast is great also.Linda and Brian are loverly hosts would recommend to any of my friends for a place to stay if they were looking for a stay in Northumberland.
Morpeth
The hotel looks as though it hasn't been touched for 50 years. It smells unclean, the decor is old, the facilities terrible. The shower in the room didn't work. We could have travelled another 20 minutes and stayed in The Captain's lodge which looked modern, with a sea view for over £20 less. Photos show the view we had from our room. Would never stay again. The staff however were lovely, couldn't fault them.
Great place to start or have a break when cycling or visiting the area. Book for evening meal or you will be disappointed. Very popular restaurant excellent food and service!! Bed and breakfast good value for money. Full english breakfast was delicious and just the right size. Beautifully decorated restaurant. If you want a quiet and tranquil place to rest and charge up your batteries, this is the place.
