This beautiful log cabin had everything you needed. John the owner was exceptionally nice and he welcomed us on arrival and showed us around. We visited different towns over the 5 days and it was so nice . Huge enclosed garden and woodland area so it was great for dogs . I would definitely return to this beautiful lodge and have recommended to others to visit. You will have a lovely relaxed time away .Also the Crazy Horse Pub was lovely and food was spot on pizza was so nice .

Wonderful town; it even has a bank!

Wonderful town; it even has a bank! Plus excellent shopping, all the outlets I like. In lovely setting with River Wansdyke through it. Lots of pretty old buildings with history attached. And near the coast, the Cheviots, and NT Cragside

A historic and interesting small town - was a staging post...

A historic and interesting small town - was a staging post on the Great North Road, hence it's closeness to the current A1. Also on East Coast main railway line so easy access. Free disc parking in town car parks and a good range of shops both national brands and local. Lidl and Morrisons supermarkets quite central. Lovely park with paddling pool and playground with old motte and bailey mound still there. Boating on the river in summer. Small castle but is a private residence. Close to Cragside and Wallington National trust properties and beach at Newbiggin. Northumberland Zoo nearby and well worth a visit with children. Could go on but will finish there with a would recommend comment!

The time we arrived, there wasn’t a lot to do or see, as we arrived late in the afternoon. The Main Street had plenty of shops and food take a ways, with some restaurants. Would really have to spend a little more time there to explore.

THERE IS A WONDERFUL PARK NEARBY WITH A BOATING LAKE, PLAY PARK AND LARGE ROUND OUTDOOR PADDLING POOL, WONDERFUL WALKS AND FACILITIES FOR FAMILIES, LOTS OF EATERYS AND PUBS. NOOKS AND CRANNYS TO EXPLORE AS WELL AS A DIVERSE RANGE OF SHOPS WITH THE LONG ESTABLISHED FAMILY DEPARTMENT STORE BUSINESS OF RUTHERFORDS WITH SMASHING TEA ROOM. I WAS PLEASED TO DISCOVER A WONDERFUL LEISURE CENTRE FACILITY NEARBY WITH POOLS, CHILDRENS PLAY AREA, CAFE AND LIBRARY. IT WAS ALWAYS GOING TO BE A BRILLIANT STAY REGARDLESS

Very clean tidy place. Good shopping, great disc parking on street and in car parks - just buy disc from local shop for £1 for free parking. Lots of good shops, and popular eateries. Modern and old - great mix

A compact but fully equiped and very comfortable apartment. It is close to the town centre of Morpeth and access to the A1, but is quiet once inside - it is very secure with easy off street parking . It has been decorated beautifully, is spotlessly clean, and has been fitted out generously by the owners with everything you could need for self catering - they also leave lovely biscuits and coffee, and will offer to bake a delicious loaf of fresh bread for your arrival.

A lovely, comfortable little cottage that provided a welcome retreat during a busy work trip to Morpeth and Newcastle. Well equipped and peaceful. The beautiful Christmas decorations in the living room made for a festive stay! I was lucky to get parked on the street outside, but there are also several free car parks very close by if the street is busy, including Grey’s Yard, which is tucked away on the same side of Oldgate as the cottage, directly opposite Skin & Co.

It seemed central to Morpeth despite us only staying there a night to then move on to Alnwick. The staff were all friendly and the room and bathroom were clean! Definitely great value for money and the car park was super helpful and free!
