Ravelston House, hotel in Port Seton

The thing that we like the most was the breakfast. Included in the price, we had the possibility to try the real full Scottish breakfast and it was amazing. Also the pancakes with cream and berries were delicious. And we liked the bathroom, was new and modern, with a lot of light, the shower was quite big and the bathroom spacious

Jezelle was really easy to communicate with and we received all the information to check in, in good time. All the instructions were clear and easy to follow. We were able to check in nice and early and Jezelle kindly let us know we could do so. Jezelle, made sure we had checked in successful and was kind enough to check all was fine.

The property was not really clean or welcoming.

The property was not really clean or welcoming. Ignition on cooker did not work, table lights have no wall sockets, etc. we had to buy matches to cook. Also there are no towels/ tea towels. It is like being back in the 1970s but not in a good way. Avoid unless you are desperate for the location which is lovely.

On site shop had everything we needed and wasn’t too expensive. Can also make use of the fish & chips takeaway and on site bar/restaurant without buying a pass. You need to buy a pass to use the swimming pool or other recreational facilities on site. Caravan is very nicely furnished and equipped with everything we needed, including linen, towels and kitchen items. The pedal go karts had a lot of use by our children! They’s also a games console and board games available. The caravan location is in a quiet, secluded area of the park with space out the front for the kids to play safely. We drove to Edinburgh for the day - less than 30 mins drive. There is a bud available that stops outside the front of the park - that takes about an hour.

It's a sleepy little place with only one pub at the moment.

It's a sleepy little place with only one pub at the moment. But there was a COOP and a smashing cafe that served breakfast amongst other things. There was a chippy and a fish mongers. So just about everything we required. Edinburgh is a short distance away. And the East Lothian coast is readily accessible by car or public transport. A great location.
