Put life on pause at The Belle, a Grade II Listed building that has been lovingly converted into a stylish home from home for a family of four or two couples. The Belle is one of three stunning cottages at Croft Cottage, a former 17th century building centrally located in the beautiful market town of Bakewell. Undeniably tasteful and rustically chic, The Belle lives up to its name by being a beautiful two bedroom cottage with a gorgeous enclosed garden. With character features including a huge inglenook fireplace and sash windows, there is plenty of space for four to relax and dine together. The living space downstairs comprises a lounge with ample seating and a log burner, a dining room and a fully equipped kitchen. The Belle sleeps four across a first floor king bedroom and a double bedroom, and there is a family bathroom and downstairs cloakroom. Bakewell is the gem of the Peak District and dates back to Anglo Saxon times. Famous for Bakewell pudding, Bakewell is a foodies dream with award-winning restaurants and pubs as well as superb walking and cycling, a fantastic golf course, a good selection of shops and a marvellous Monday market. Set out on foot or bike to explore the many countryside walks and rides on the doorstep. Bakewell Station (The Monsal Trail) is a 5 minute walk from the cottage. The Midland Railway line was closed in 1968, with the former railway line being the popular Monsal Trail. Set among the rolling valleys and peaks of Derbyshire, The Belle is perfect if you’re looking for fresh air and fine walks. Dovedale, one of the most beautiful valleys in England with its famed stepping stones, is not to be missed. Venture a little further into the Peak District for more adventurous hikes. Explore the mysterious caverns of Castleton, the elegant spa town of Buxton or enjoy the many stately homes, including Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall and Hardwick Hall, to mention a few. Appealing to children in particular, exciting theme parks, spectacular caverns and nearby Matlock Farm Park provide plentiful entertainment.
