The Bothy at Ivy Cottage, is a beautiful, recently refurbished, centuries-old stone Shepherd’s Hut, situated in the hamlet of Red Path, Haltwhistle. Within the characterful cottage there is a large comfortable King-sized Hypnos bed with luxury bed linen, a table & 2 chairs located by window, so you can enjoy breakfast while taking in the glorious views down the valley, or alternatively if the weather is warm enough have breakfast outside on the patio area, a chance to enjoy the local wildlife dropping by. Nespresso Coffee machine, kettle (with full supply of tea/coffee pods) Bose speaker, Radio, & hairdryer, all available for your use. The simple and stylish bathroom provides a shower, toilet and washbasin with White Company towels & toiletries. Located close to the popular town of Halthwhistle, with its busy train station and local buses connecting the town, and the area, to Newcastle and Carlisle. We are surrounded by dramatic countryside, woodlands and magnificent views as far as the eye can see, sandwiched between The Kielder Forest, Northumberland Nat. Park & the North Pennines AONB. Hadrians Wall, Vindolanda,, Birdoswald, The Sill etc., just a short drive away.

We were introduced to Ivy Cottage when we took part in the BBC programme 'I Escaped to the Country' in 2017 when house no. 2 stole our hearts. We knew in those first moments that this would be the perfect place to make our home, and to welcome guests from all over the world.
