The Stables is an unusual accommodation in that it is a lovely “Cottage Style” separate building in a farm setting. Very quiet and perfect for a few nights stay. Apart from the basic but comfortable bedroom there is a nice bathroom, lounge and small but adequate kitchen - think comfortable Youth Hostel style accommodation ! Phil & Fran (hosts) were very friendly and helpful. Need to supply own food needs but some scones, butter and clotted cream available with your visit - a Nice Touch - thank you.

LPG gas central heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. Initial logs for wood burner included. Sitting-out area with garden furniture. Shared lawned courtyard. 1 dog welcome, to be kept on a lead at all times (horses on site). Stabling available. Private parking for 2 cars. No smoking. . Offering a comfortable base within the grounds of the owner’s home, this property also features a cosy wood burner and is a great place from which to spend your holiday. Enjoy this fantastic area, which has so much to do and see for all ages and abilities. Whether its a gentle stroll, relaxing and unwinding, or energetic pursuits you crave, you will be sure to find it all here. Riding, golfing, canoeing, fishing, kayaking and climbing are all available in the surrounding areas. Cycling is very popular in the Forest of Dean, with dedicated tracks and trails to suit all abilities. Rich in wildlife and nature, it has many picnic sites to soak up this atmospheric area. Local attractions include Puzzlewood, Go Ape high wire adventure course, The Steam Railway, Littledean Jail and Dean Heritage Centre. Clearwell Caves and Tintern Abbey are also very popular. Chepstow, with its racecourse, also has many bars, restaurants and independent shops. Monmouth and Ross-on-Wye are also within easy driving distance.
