A beautiful cottage in Rutland a mile from the historic market town of Stamford Lincolnshire famed for hosting Burghley horse trials, the setting for many period dramas and local shops. The village of Great Casterton holds claim to a wonderful traditional village pub with a classic bar snack menu and an exceptional Sunday lunch. The joints are purchased from the award winning butcher ‘Simpson’ that’s also in the village in the outstanding ‘Stamford garden centre’, where you will also find 'The Ivy Lodge' Elimis spa and beauty, florist and much more. Rutland Water is only 5 miles away, where you can sail, fish, rock clime, bird watch, cycle, children's adventure park and it the summer it opens a beach and aqua park. surrounding the water are a vast selection of historic villages with a wealth of history and acclaimed village pubs and hotels including 'Hambelton Hall' in the village of Hambelton and the 'Olive Branch' at Clipsham.
The home is a traditional semi detached farm workers cottage, built in 1890 with local stone and roofed in the famous local Collywestern slate. To the rear of the property is a lovely private lawn garden that catches all the morning sun, there you will find a seating and BBQ area. To the front garden, (shared with next door) you can enjoy long summer evenings while the sun sets in front of your very eyes and the heady scent of the David Austin roses, Beautiful!! Inside the the property you will be greeted with a bright sunny fresh interior the kitchen is a combination of stripped pine and modern units with an imported Spanish ceramic tiled floor. Off the kitchen is a cloakroom with a WC and hand wash basin. To the right of the kitchen is the sitting room, dressed with Designer Guild wallpaper, an oak white washed floor and the most beautiful fire place with a fully functioning wood burner. As you go upstairs you will find two bedrooms with an En Suit each, one room has two single beds (we can make to a double if required) and the second room has a kingsize bed and also a super comfy double sofa bed. If required we can always add an extra put up bed and/or cot. Enjoy
