Just off the A45/A46/A509, less than 2 miles from the town center and just 2 miles from Wellingborough railway station, the hotel offers free parking and rooms with attached bathroom. Excellent staff, very accommodating and polite. Clean comfy room, I will be returning to wellingborough soon a d will definitely be looking to stay at ibis.
The Hind Hotel is a Grade II listed 17th-century coaching inn in the center of Wellingborough. With limited free parking on site and free Wi-Fi, it is just one mile from Wellingborough Rail Station. Seeing the hotel from the out side, it looks old but static. Also when you enter the hotel, it looks very antique. On the other hand, the rooms are refurbished and very modern. Staff was excellent. I had issues with the shower and they gave me an upgraded room. Furthermore, they apologised a couple of times and a free drink was offered at the bar. That is what I call guest service. Breakfast was a la carte and nice.
This private hotel has comfortable rooms with private bathrooms, a welcoming staff and the best full English breakfast around, included in your room rate. The hotel was first class there was a warm welcome on arrival and through out my stay. This is a family run hotel nothing to much trouble the breakfast was excellent , location is good for the town centre.
Set in Wellingborough, The Stables at The George offers a garden. The property offers free private parking and free WiFi. We arrived late, around 8;30 pm, yet they went out of their way to feed us. The room was ideal for us. Clean sheets & towels, and provisions to make our own coffee. A toilet and shower, which was clean and tidy too The second evening we stayed, they were fully booked for food, but again they went out of their way to arrange seating and again feed us. They had a varied range of drinks and the menu was just up our street. Kath had fish & chips and I had a burger on the Friday evening. Both were very satisfying. We both had ribeye on the Saturday evening and again, it was cooked to perfection. All the staff were very friendly, as were the locals. We may have been 200 miles from home, but it was just like walking into our local pub. We will definitely be booking again.
Wellingborough has deteriorated so much in the last 10 years. 10 pm didn't feel safe walking from car that had to park 5 min walk from hotel. Some intimidating character's outside. Was glad to get in hotel. This morning drove past the old shut Burtons and old post office. Six people sleeping rough. High Street got more closed business than open. Roads pavements littered with rubbish. All in all very underwhelmed
I don't have a problem with The Hind Hotel, but Booking.com questions don't allow for an alternative, more factual, answer I didn't find Booking.com very 'user friendly' and would hesitate to use them again.
We would not recommend any1 to stay here especially with kids, sum staff call customers had no ppe on, the management refuses to listen to our complaints and says his staff are never wrong and says they act professionally snd he the manager never stayed 2meters apart when talking to us
Although we didn't stay in Wellingborough for the town itself, we did spend some time there in the evenings we were there. Very few main stream restaurants in the area, only a few takeaways, busy roads, a bit rough round the edges
Near the hotel is a pub/restaurant parking outside. You can walk to here its not far from the hotel. McDonald's is nearby walking distance. Bowling is available and not far by car, also B&M Shop and Tesco. Behind Tesco is a small trading estate with Pets at Home, Pizza Hut, a pub. B&Q and a few more shops to visit. Plenty of parking available. Wellingborough town centre is near, to get to the town centre you will need a car, its minutes from the hotel. The Swansgate shopping centre has plenty of shops to walk around. There is Rushden Lakes that has plenty of shops and boutique ones, this can be reached by car. You can park here for up to 5 hours. There are places to eat here too. The Needle and Awe pub has good food not too badly priced either. Parking is available in the car park. Riverside has shops you can visit with parking. Billing Aquadrome is open from Easter until October, they have a fun fair and train., slot machines. If you want to travel about 10 miles you can visit Northampton Town Centre.
I went for a specific event at the theatre - otherwise wouldn’t have chosen Wellingborough as a place to catch up with my friend. One really decent cafe / bar in town centre but otherwise it was a bit run down.
Plenty of parking available, relatively easy to check in considering the ongoing farce of Covid 19, receptionist was friendly, polite and approachable. The room was fair to average, it was clean, although seemingly a little spartan, again maybe down to this ridiculous panic about Covid 19. The bed was comfortable, typical hotel pillows which are massively too soft and gives me neck ache. Check out was quick and easy.
On arrival at the hotel, the receptionist saw that I'm not very mobile and instantly swapped our first floor room for a ground floor room. Despite the hotel exterior undergoing major renovations, it was quiet and very welcoming. Accommodation was practical, clean and inviting. Food was very good. We would highly recommend the Hind and will definitely stay there again.
Perfect for our lads who are working away - much better than a hotel
It was cheap
