Wind Rose Cottage is our first and only holiday home so you can be sure of an individualised stay. We have furnished it with a mixture of antique and period pieces, many of which have been in our family for generations. Perfect for a romantic getaway for two with it's pretty four poster bed in the master bedroom and the cosy snug with log burner complete with a library. The bunks in the second bedroom make it equally suitable for families with young children and a travel cot is provided. It is designed to create a home from home in England's friendliest port. Set right in the heart of Amble so you have all amenities on your doorstep, the beach and harbour village are only a short walk away and there are plenty of interesting shops to explore in the bustling high street. We welcome pets at Wind Rose Cottage and provide towels for wet pooches coming back from a run on the beach. We know what it's like to arrive after a long journey, all you want is a cuppa and a snack so a welcome pack is provided with tea, coffee, milk and sugar plus some little extras to make your stay even more enjoyable. We love sharing our beautiful home with visitors to this wonderful part of the country, it has been an amazing experience and one we hope to continue for many years to come. We do everything ourselves including all the cleaning and laundry so really appreciate it when our guests leave the cottage as they found it, especially as we also both work full time and somehow I also find time to ride and compete on my beautiful Appaloosa horse Santana Belle.

There are many great eateries in Amble so you never need to cook if you don't want to. Northumberland is the county of coast and castles with stunning white sandy beaches that stretch for miles and historic houses such as Alnwick Castle of Harry Potter fame and the fascinating Cragside, home of Lord Armstrong and the first house to be lit by hydroelectricity. Walkers and cyclists can enjoy the natural beauty of the area, you might see a red squirrel and there is an abundance of other wildlife such as deer, foxes, hares and a myriad of wild birds. If you want the bright lights and excitement of the big city Newcastle upon Tyne with many museums, shopping and a great night life on the quayside is about 45 minutes away by car.
