The fine print
As of 1 September 2021, the accommodations service provider is obliged to record the specific personal data of every individual (adult, minor, infant) at check-in in the form of a valid identity card, driving license or travel document. In the absence of a legal identification document, the hotel has to refuse to provide the service of accommodations; however, the hotel will claim the net amount of the entire booking as a frustration penalty, and the guest cannot request any compensation.
