Company info

Linda and Páll live with their children, dogs, hens, and horses at Litla-Gröf. We relocated to the country to find peace and quiet, and we want to share that experience with others. Karuna Guesthouse was formed in 2018 and launched in July of that year. The way nature plays with the soul and makes one feel happy has a unique magic to it. We aim to make a relaxed atmosphere.

Property info

Karuna Guesthouse is a family-run guesthouse located on Highway 75 between Varmahlid (11 km) and Saudárkrókur (14 km). We are a self-check-in accommodation. Gulluhús is a cozy property with 5 bedrooms and 2 shared bathrooms. The restrooms are on the ground floor and the rooms are on the house's second floor. A lounge and five larger rooms are in the old farmhouse next to Gulluhús, each with a private bathroom, private entrance, and tea/coffee-making facilities. All of the rooms feature flat-screen TVs and free Wi-Fi. The common areas are the fully equipped kitchen, dining room, and hot tub. We do not have employees on-site, nonetheless, assistance is always available if needed. We have stunning views, grazing horses, loving dogs, and free-range hens.

Neighborhood info

There is a fantastic swimming pool in Varmahlid, as well as a nice outdoor recreation area where you may explore. There's also a store, gas station, and restaurant. There is a grocery store, a swimming pool, beauty salons, workshops, and more in Sauárkrókur. A golf course and the Tindastól ski area are located just outside Sauárkrókur. It takes a little over 30 minutes to drive from Karuna to Hólar Hjaltadal, and just over 40 minutes to go to Hofsós, which has a lovely swimming pool, an Emigration Center, and beautiful landscapes. Several horse rentals in Skagafjörur offer short or longer rides. Skagafjörur also has several hiking paths, which are easy to learn about at the Tourist Information Center.
