The place and the location are really nice. We stayed for 4 nights, and had everything we need in the guest house. The kitchen has everything (fridge, microwave, oven, even the barbecue that we didn’t use), bathroom as well (hair dryer for example). There was also a private hot tub in our guest house (didn’t use it). The hosts are really nice, since I’ve managed to lock ourselves out of the house (make sure you have your keys with you whenever leaving the house), I’ve reached out to the hosts and they’ve sent us help with spare keys in no time. Additionally, since it is located outside the Akureyri downtown, the city lights are low, so we even saw Aurora Borealis/ northern lights from the porch. Overall a lovely stay and experience.

The location north of Akureyri was absolutely perfect for exploring the north and this part of Iceland. Many shops and sights are nearby. The area of the cottages itself was very calm and remote yet very easy accessible. The property itself was very well equipped, cosy bed, a rather small bathroom, but the private hot tub that was easy to use made it a 5 Star stay :)

The place was just right for us. It felt private and close to nature, surrounded by sweeping views, birdsond and horses. The beds and bathroom were comfortable enough and the kitchen well-equipped. We could easily have stayed longer.

  • Sæl Auður, Ég var að hugsa, við fjölskyldan vorum að ákveða að taka smá skyndiákvörun og fara í smá ferðalag. Er eitthvað hægt að semja um verðið þar sem að við værum ekki að koma fyrr en svo seint í kvöld. Við búum í Mosfellsbæ og værum ekki að leggja af stað fyrr en klukkan 16/17. Kveðja, Hákon

  • We have three adults. Are the three beds all in one room? Can one adult sleep on the couch in the living room? Are there sheets/blankets for couch?
    It depends on what size of house you are looking at, 2 bedroom houses have one bedroom with a double bed and a bunk above and 3 bedroom houses have two bedrooms with a double bed and a bunk above, one adult can sleep on the couch in 1 bedroom houses

Born and raised in this countryside and learned early on to love nature. Like to ride horses, motorcycles and snowmobiles along with skiing and hiking. Enjoy relaxing with my family especially in warm water such as in nature baths, geothermal swimming pools or jacuzzi. Have three fabulous kids, a cat, a dog and few horses.

Warm and welcoming facilities and a great location makes us a popular choice for accommodation in Akureyri. A quiet and family-friendly environment, away from town life, but still within short distance to everything that Akureyri has to offer. Vacation Home Fagravík is well located by the ocean, with an amazing view of Eyjafjord and mountains. We offer a cosy vacation home, perfect for a family or two traveling together, featuring veranda were you can enjoy your private jacuzzi and BBQ in magical midnight sun or northern lights. Fully equipped kitchen with stove, oven, microwave and refrigerator, coffee maker, kettle, toster and tableware. A nice livingroom with TV, radio and CD and comfortable bedrooms offering a crib upon request. With your private bathroom with shower you can feel at home in this friendly surroundings. For outdoor enthusiasts, there is nowhere better to be if you like to enjoy nature. Walk by the ocean, watching the wild birdlife and the countryside were one most likely will come across horses, sheeps and dogs. Visitors can even bring a fishingpole and catch a fish for dinner.

In the end of the day one can enjoy the midnight sun or the northern lights dependin on the season of visit.
