Hotel Bologna, hotel in Pisa

The elegant Hotel Bologna is set in the historic centre of Pisa, 5 minutes' walk from the train station. It offers free Wi-Fi and a shuttle to the airport.

The breakfast food was very good. But the breakfast room was unpleasantly hot and quite dark, and very very busy, probably too small for the size of the hotel. Our room was clean, but quite noisy. We arrived early, but we were able to check in early which was great. Reception staff very friendly and helpful. Fridge with free water and safety deposit box in room. Very easy walk from the station to the hotel. Very good location.. Staff gave us map of city, very easy to follow. Hotel was full the night we stayed.

Pisa is undeservedly regarded in a poor light in comparison to other Italian cities. We enjoyed our visit to the city. It's a very pleasant and interesting destination. It was easy to explore the city on foot. Not just Piazza dei Miracoli! The international airport is so easy to reach from the train station.

The buildings were spectacular, a must to see.

The buildings were spectacular, a must to see. The Corso Italia was a great street with cafes restaurants and shops.. Great food (if you find the right places, a few were expensive with small serves) but the most were great value and excellent food. A cheap bus ride takes you to the beach, Marina de Pisa.. and when there make sure you eat at Agata Fish Restaurant.. absolutely fabulous, best food, best service and friendly, made our day!

What struck me about walking around Pisa itself and closer...

What struck me about walking around Pisa itself and closer to the Tower, is that is really does have International interest and the excitement and enjoyment that people have from travelling all over the world to see the leaning tower is very infectious. With good weather and so many wonderful eateries, its a travellers playground and so many hidden gems, accessed from the various online sites that specialise in places to eat etc. We found the costs very reasonable for a family of three, non drinkers, food choices were really good. The whole area felt very safe, it was very clean as well, quite noticeable i felt, maybe not as many open areas as i might have expected for picnics etc, but so much to see, lots of shops if you like to spend time on retail therapy, generally a great location and a lovely place to visit. We travelled from Stansted, the flights were fine with Ryanair and the airport is very close, we managed to walk there on our last day, around 35 mins walk in glorious sunshine.

We spent 4 days in Pisa Tuesday-Saturday.

We spent 4 days in Pisa Tuesday-Saturday. With one of the four days spent in Florence, this was a very easy train ride away. We done the tower-book in advance!! They give you a timed slot for the tower but can return any day to do the museums, cathedral and baptistry, it’s beautiful and you don’t need to rush. We paid €56 for two of usto do everything, you can also co tone to use that ticket for a year to do everything but the tower again. We enjoyed wandering the streets and Piazza’s and enjoyed more local cafes and restaurants that were good value for money too! Cafe- La Delizie €1.50 for cappuccino and also does beautiful pastries and cakes. Our favourite Pizza was La Taverna Pulcinella Via Garofani 10 56125 Pisa Italy We would love to return and spend more time exploring Pisa.

This was a great room for a budget one night stay in Pisa. The room was basic but had everything we needed for one night and reflected the price we paid. The room was spotlessly clean and basic toiletries were provided. There was no air conditioning but the ceiling fan did the job just fine. The staff were so friendly and even booked a taxi for us for our early trip back to the airport. The location is probably the best you will get in Pisa, as hotel is literally a 3 minute stroll away from the leaning tower.
